A series of events in Shibuya

Takumi Saijo is a high school student who is used to immersing himself in the internet and his own interests. A series of events known as the New Generation occurred in Shibuya. At first, he kept his distance from these reports, but later received anomalous images related to the case online and encountered related scenes in real life.

Characters like Risami Sakihata enter Takumi's life. For Takumi, whether the people around him are trustworthy and whether his own observations are accurate gradually become issues as important as the case itself. The work unfolds through the limited perspective of the protagonist, so readers cannot automatically possess complete information beyond the characters.

Delusional attempts to trigger the system

The official system divides Delusion Trigger into positive and negative directions, and allows you to continue reading without delusion. These choices bring Takumi's imagined scenes into the performance, expressing his expectations, fears, and misunderstandings.

A scene appearing on screen is not necessarily an event experienced by other characters. This system emphasizes subjective cognition, unlike ordinary menus that directly select character actions; Players need to understand where the information comes from by combining the context before and after.

Original work with NOAH

This entry retains the information of 'CHAOS; The original identity of 'HEAD'. 《CHAOS; HEAD NOAH is a later expanded version; Later, high-definition products appeared. When discussing branching content or adding endings, it should be clearly stated whether it refers to NOAH; not all content from the expanded version should be unconditionally included in the original.

Spike Chunsoft's PC products released in 2022 use the NOAH name, and the HD, language, and cataloging notes on product pages belong to this version. It doesn't mean the game was first released in 2022.

Relationship with other scientific ADVs

《CHAOS; HEAD is at the starting point in the scientific ADV series, STEINS; GATE is another work that follows. Each installment in the series uses different information interaction devices: mobile triggers, delusion triggers, and map-related systems cannot be mixed with the same function.

The official team also introduced "CHAOS;" CHILD's page lists Mapping Trigger as the game's mechanism. The fact that both titles appear side by side in collections or series promotions does not mean all systems are interconnected.

Original PC version and budget version

Mutsumi Sasaki was responsible for character design, CHOCO for product design; The script was written by Naotaka Hayashi of 5pb., with original artwork by Yukihiro Matsuo. Nitroplus developed and released the 2008 PC version; On July 30, 2010, Nitro The Best was launched! Vol.4 Budget Edition.

Takumi and the online preview

Takumi Saijo, a second-year high school student, lives at the Shibuya Container residence. Images sent online by the general predicted a series of murders; The next day, Takumi meets Risuka Sakihata at the same scene. Delusional choices intertwined his subjective imagination with on-site information.

The school's connection with the band

Ashifumi and the transfer student Sue are both Takumi's classmates; Third-year Yua approaches him after the incident, while Ayase from the neighboring class takes on the lead vocalist of PHANTASM under the name FES. Nanami is Takumi's younger sister and often visits her brother, who lives alone. Hoshirai belongs to Takumi's favorite works and appears in fantasies.

Delusional triggers and terminological explanations

The 2008 PC version of Delusion Trigger offers three states: positive, negative, and no selection, with changes to some scene presentation and subsequent developments. TIPS are used to explain the terms that appear. The concurrent review explains that the original story follows the main storyline and does not set independent paths for each female lead.

The parallel bootleg survey grouping

The Eight Chapters radio drama aired on December 3, 2008, depicting new cases in the suburbs of Shibuya. After Nanami's acquaintance was harmed, she joined Takumi and Rishen in investigating; Sena and Kozue team up, and Yua follows the police investigation. Each group's actions in the show are recorded separately in the main game segment.

The division of work for each piece in the soundtrack

The 2009 Chaos Head Audio Series Complete Box track lists the original soundtrack compositions and arrangements. Go Abo was responsible for songs such as "M.I.L.," "SHIBUYA," "Distorted Theory," and "SEIRA." Distorted theory sound design

In an interview, Go Abao listed "Distorted Theory" as his favorite track on this album. He adds his own timbres as accents to the smooth melodic progression, making the sound itself the focus of expression; This piece is used in scenes such as Di Jian's commentary.

Sword of Power and Joint Action (2008 PC main game, spoilers)

In the latter part, Takumi learns about the relationship between the DI-sword and its ability to see it. Sena and Kozue accompany each other in the main story. Senna destroys the Noah II terminal in the park, while Kozue retrieves the DI-sword from the department store; The three of them later took a group photo.

Youai's Pursuit and B Ending (2008 PC main story, spoilers)

Yua exchanges clues with the detective, investigating the New Generation case from a different perspective than Takumi's, and later acquires a DI-sword. The original B ending allows Takumi to experience the murder again, revealing the truth from a perspective never seen before.

An additional work from the PHANTASM album

On May 6, 2009, the first CD of End Prophecy re-released the regular recordings of "Sin ni Contract no Chiku" and "Gladiolu," along with three additional tracks: "Atonement no Erotica" with lyrics by Ryoko Hashizume, composed by TK-J, and arranged by Tatsushi Hayashi; "The One Who Lights Light in the Darkness" lyrics by Chiyomaru Yushikura, composed and arranged by Hayashi; "Lament Arabesque" Lyrics by Tsume Yuhashi, music by Keisuke Kurose, arrangement by Hayashi. The second disc also includes live footage from the Chelsea Hotel on March 14, 2009.

Usually inserted songs with subsequent records

The regular version of "Blood of the Contract for Sin" is clearly composed and arranged by Tatsushi Hayashi, with lyrics by Chiyomaru Shikura, and performed under the name FES (Yui Sakakibara) of PHANTASM. In 2011, the first five tracks of the first CD of the 2011 "VOCAL COLLECTION" were re-released in sequence: "Find the Blue," "Desire Blue Sky," "Cry," "Blood of the Contract in Sin," and "Gladiolu." In 2014, track 16 of THE WORKS 8.0 was also included as a self-cover version of 'Find the Blue.'

The production direction of scientific ADV is starting with sound

Yukihiro Matsuo Retrospective, 'CHAOS;' HEAD' shifted him from his previous experience in romance ADV to producing works that combine real-world science with theory. Tsuyoshi Abo noted in the official text that the sound development for the first installment in the series began in October 2007.
