The source of the short story collection

"On the Hill Where the Light Guards" originates from a sixteen-story side story published in Dengeki G's magazine, written by Jun Maeda, Kai, Yuichi Suzumoto, and Toya Okano, with illustrations by Goto P. PSP combines short story text and illustrations with radio drama audio and original music, with eight stories each included in the first and second volumes.

The characters and stories in the second volume

The first half focuses on Kotomi's pre-date outfit picking, Kinen's spell, Kappei hospitalized and reuniting with old acquaintances, and the past of Misae and Yoshino Yusuke. The second half shifts from Yukimura-sensei's memories to the Furukawa Bakers baseball team reunion, the post-game bathhouse gathering, and finally concludes with Shio as the centered chapter.

Reading methods

This game does not have route options. After selecting a piece, the audio, text, and images play in a fixed order; Chapter selection and the L and R keys make it easy to return to specific segments. The second volume covers life and conclusions related to the development of this story, making it suitable for reading after learning about the main characters of CLANNAD.

Relationship with the Steam version

The later title, CLANNAD Side Stories, was developed by VisualArts/Key and published by Sekai Project. The Steam page was launched on June 2, 2016, using English text and Japanese dubbing. This version gathers the spin-off story, and the product format differs from the PSP's split volumes.

Kotomi, Juju, and hospitalization

One Piece Kotomi asks An and Muku to choose date outfits; The secret of the spell lecture Tomoya and Haruhara were influenced by Yukina's spell. Four years ago, due to a connection, Kappei received treatment and was hospitalized under Ryō's encouragement, meeting an old acquaintance.

Memories of Misae and her teacher

Their memories connect dorm manager Misae and former rock artist Yusuke to a shared past. The teacher's memories depict the young master preparing for marriage with Yusuke and visiting their mentor Yukimura together.

Baseball team and bathhouse

The Furukawa Bakers reunite, with Akiki suggesting a team restructuring, and Tomoya and his teammates get caught up in the plan. Minna de Sento is the second part of the series; after the competition, everyone goes to a nearby bathhouse. Both stories show the daily lives of friends who can reunite after campus.

Shio Arc (Spoiler at the end of this story)

The town's feelings are the culmination of a whole set of stories. Xi survives in the town's miracle, inherits the town's will, and sets out to observe the outside world. This article concerns the end of the main story and does not belong to the early events common to all character routes.

Inclusion in different media

The PSP Volume 2 was released on July 15, 2010, featuring eight fixed episodes played together with GotoP illustrations, text, and drama sound. The 4-volume radio drama in 2007 had different sequences; The last two stories of Tomoya and the Shio arc in the second volume are concentrated in the fourth volume of the radio drama.

The opening of the second volume of the Switch collection

The Switch collection introduces 'One Piece' starting from a rainy day together: Tomoya wants to see Kotomi's different outfits, and the Fujibayashi sisters come to them.

"The Connection of Four Years Ago" begins when Shohei and Liang are on their way to the rehabilitation training room, where a woman he doesn't remember asks about events from four years ago.

The opening of 'Thoughts in the Town' is a father-daughter conversation before summer vacation: Tomoya asks where she is headed, and from Shio's reaction, she guesses she wants to go overseas.
