The legend of the teacher and the princess

After Professor Amakawa, who researches the legend of Hime, disappears, student Kyoji Takamura continues his investigation and arrives at Fuuka Academy as a temporary teacher in the classical arts department. He gradually meets Mai Tsuba, Natsuki Kuga, Yuu Shin, and Mibukuro Michi, and also reunites with the professor's daughter, Sakuya Amamikawa. Teaching life and old ties gradually led him into battles hidden behind legends.

A story of relationships deciding the situation

This is an independent game story within the cross-media project of "Mai-HiME," featuring multiple routes and multiple endings. Players interact with different girls, increase their affection, and then become involved in HiME's fate of fighting for someone important. The route not only changes the romantic partner, but also changes which HiME the story revolves around and who the player needs to help through the crisis.

The map resonates with the Noble Phantasm

The daily part selects destinations via the map. The Noble Phantasms held by Kyoji resonate with HiME's Noble Phantasms, indicating their locations; Different wavelengths of color also help players identify characters. The outcome of battles is determined by choices, linking relationship building, finding characters, and judgments at critical moments.

A newly added chapter in Asura

This edition includes the long story "Shizuru Chapter," which depicts Fujino Shizuru's inner world and one-sided feelings, adding an ending for Aoi Sugiura and Nao Yuki, and supplementing the interactions between Yukino and Haruka. More than thirty new event CGs have been added, along with new Child visuals and summoning animations. The new chapters provide more independent character development for characters previously on other routes.

Performance adjustments for PC ports

Besides story expansion, the development diary notes that the PC version improved sound quality and image resolution, and added character images for Takamura. Yukino and Haruka also receive character illustrations, voice lines, and student council executive dialogue that was omitted from the original PS2 version. These expansions were provided with the 2006 PC version, while the original PS2 version was released in 2005.

The protagonist and character of the academy

Takamura, 23, is a graduate student at the Tianhe Research Office and temporarily serves as a classical literature teacher for Class 1-3 of the high school. The campus interactions among Mai, Natsuki, Meiwa Sakuya, and others gradually shifted toward battles among HiMEs. Mashiro is the young chairman, while Aoi and Hasamizu are responsible for teaching and academic affairs respectively; Father Joseph turned to science after losing his daughter.

Child resonates with the map

Natsuki corresponds to Duran, Sakuya to Tsukiyomi, Shinyu to Kamael, Mai to Kagutsuchi, Shizuru to Kiyohime, Nao to Julia, and Justice Partner to Akutenno. The color resonance of the Noble Phantasm indicates HiME's location on the map, and conversation and battle options together influence the route.

Expand characters and production

The Windows version adds the Shizuru Arc, Haruka Yukino's voice illustrations, the ending of Hinao, and the Child summoning video. Written by Natsuki Akisoba, Yuwa Fuka, and Daisuke Hinoya, with Haruka and Mari participating in the script, and Shin Goto participating in the script and direction, along with some story segments.

The development setting of the game stage

The screenwriter arranged Fuuka Town in Shikoku and around Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture, while the old Mibukuro family was near Shimane Izumo. The protagonist studies archaeology in graduate school, and her life before taking up the post connects with the legend of Hime from Fuuka Academy.
