Nine people and nine hours

After the explosion at the research facility, the isolation system trapped nine people underground, with the exit expected to open nine hours later. The supplies to protect them are insufficient for everyone to wait safely, so rescue team leader Watase must find survivors and other exits while maintaining teamwork.

Two periods of perspective

Route A starts from the rescue after the accident, while Route B follows high school student Natsuhiko through the six days before the accident. The main time of the two narratives does not coincide, presenting the results and causes respectively. Which route players read first affects their understanding of character actions and mutual trust.

Extended version differences

The Xtend edition adds the Xtend route and two new endings to the final route, adjusting the relationship between Natsuhiko and Watase. The end and final section of Route B have also been rearranged; The RAM content that appeared again in the latter half has been moved to the Xtend episode after clearing the game, and new RAM for Natsuhiko has been added.

Production and distribution

The original concept, director, and producer are by Takumi Nakazawa, the script is by Team Tsukishima, and the main character artwork is by Mikeou. The PS3 version was released on October 24, 2013, and the Vita download version on July 24, 2014. According to official statements, both have identical game content.

Radio drama

The limited first edition includes two "After Crime" drama CDs, each depicting new events after the finale from the perspectives of Natsuhiko and Watase. These two radio dramas use audio formats independent of the game.

The pre-story positioning of Before Days

The official Xtend website once announced that the short drama Before Days would be distributed for free with a schedule of six episodes and one episode per week. The story is set on September 9, 2030, seven days before the accident, serving both as a prelude to the main story and as a prelude to After Crime.

Scope of After Crime listening range announcement

The official listening page notes that After Crime contains major spoilers, so it's recommended to finish the game with True End before listening. This page then clearly indicates that the demo streaming has ended and points to the CD included with the Xtend first press limited edition.
