The film club and the interrupted dream
Haruto Kawai is a second-year student at Chiwadani University, participating in a small film club, hoping to pursue filmmaking as his future direction. A year ago, his close friend Yusuke Hina passed away, and Haruto began to give up on his original dreams. Mahon Sendou suddenly appears in his life, causing changes in his relationships with Yusuke's sister, Asuka Hina, and other companions. Yusuke's death and how the club members face each other again form the starting point of the story.
Mahiro, Asuka
Masumu Sendou is tough and never gives up, gets shy when it comes to romance, is good at cooking, and often forgets to bring things. Asuka is a third-year student at Ayazono Academy High School and is Haruto and the others' junior; She has a cheerful personality and has participated in TV dramas since childhood. She has now suspended her acting career and works part-time at the burger restaurant Burger Wack. Mahiro and Asuka jointly play the main female leads, with the former especially closely connected to the main storyline of Yusuke's death.
People around the film club
Kazuki Mishima is a second-year student in the Faculty of Arts at Chiwadani University. She loves movies and encourages Haruto and others, who tend to slack off, to participate seriously in club activities. Haruto's cousin, Mimi Sawarabi, is close friends with Asuka. She is shy by nature, habitually carries memo pads, and once hoped to become a scriptwriter. Mizuho Amemiya is the employee manager at Burger Wack, connected to Asuka's part-time work life. She appears calm and easygoing in her ways.
The direction of producing suspense ensemble dramas
In the official development review, the production team mentioned that the project was proposed by Kazuhiro Ichikawa, focusing on suspense and combining the mystery of family and friends' deaths with the series' interpersonal relationships and love stories. The stage returns to university life, continuing the creative ideas left unexplored in the third film, "You Who Became a Memory." Ayumu Muse, who played in the previous work 'From Now On,' returns in this work; The team has chosen supporting characters to return, hoping readers who haven't played the previous game can understand the story. The game also clearly sets the protagonist's image and voice, and produces songs for male characters.
The PSP version now features AfterStory
The PSP version adds a newly written AfterStory, connecting the main story and "Memories Off #5 encore" through the subsequent experiences of Haruto, Asuka, and Mahiro, with illustrations by Kotaro Aizawa (5pb.). It can be read from the start of the game; Since the content involves experiences after this chapter, the official recommendation is that first-time players complete the main storyline. This additional installment is a new addition to the PSP version, separate from the full "encore" title.
Release and limited editions
The game was first released in October 2005, with the PSP port launching on January 29, 2009. It is a romance adventure genre, with character designs by Yukihiro Matsuo and Takayuki Yoshimizu. The PSP limited edition includes an original soundtrack CD with game BGM, character songs and opening and ending theme CDs, an AfterStory novel and setting reference booklet, and an OVA DVD of "Interrupted Film THE ANIMATION."
Stop the movie dream
Haruto Kawai, a second-year student at Chiwadani University, belonged to a small film club. His close friend Yusuke Hina passed away a year ago, causing him to almost give up on writing; Mahiro Sendou came before him, changing his interactions with Asuka Hina.
School and Creation
Yusuke's younger sister, Asuka, was once a child star but is currently on hiatus and works part-time at a fast food restaurant. She attended Ayazono Academy High School together with Haruto's cousin Miumi; Mimi was used to taking notes and once aspired to work as a screenwriter. At university, Kazuki takes film production seriously.
Working and daily life
Mizuho from Burger Wok manages the staff and has work contact with Asuka, who works part-time at the store. Ma Xiu likes cycling and orange, and is skilled at cooking; She later became a rookie photographer during her time at Innocent Fille.
Character voices and songs
The cast list for Encore in the Post-Discussion is that Shotaro Morikubo voices Haruto; In the main PSP character page, Mahiro is Nana Inoue, and Asuka is Sakura Nogawa. Character songs include "Let's Go Look at the Sky," "Dissolve," and "Kokoro☆Lovelyway." The purpose of Film Makers' opening credits is for animation adaptation.
Short stories connecting to Encore
The original was released in October 2005. On January 29, 2009, the PSP version added an Afterstory between the main story and encore, illustrated by Kotaro Aizawa. The independent encore continues half a year after the last cut, with the high-definition main story included in Historia Volume 2.
Beautiful Sea Route: Movies and Memories
While tutoring, Haruto discovered that Mimi liked movies and asked her to write scripts. After losing her memory for a year, Miumi turns to try to distance herself from Haruto.
Reverse cut: A promise of protection
When the perspective shifts to Makoto, the reason for Yusuke's death is revealed: he fell from an apartment to protect Makoto, who was abused by his father. To fulfill his promise to complete his posthumous work, Ma Xun contacted the CUM research institute with the help of Jingxin.
Mahiro route: Leaving after completing the movie
Maxon taught herself while filming and finally completed Yusuke's 'Staircase of Light.' When she went to visit the grave, she was scolded by Yuusuke's mother, fell into guilt, and left Haruto and the others.
LastCut: Reunion by the Sea
COM Research tried to use a new movie to bring Ma back, but failed. While looking for a seaside filming location, Haruto met her who couldn't move out due to lack of money and finally invited her to join CUM Research.
The original live-action opening sequence was produced
According to Shibata and Matsuo's recollections, the opening sequence of the 2005 PS2 original was actually filmed by the staff. Ichikawa first requested a scene he wanted to obtain, and after collecting the footage, he edited it into the opening credits.
Rewriting and adding themes
The main theme, "Screen wiz you -main theme-," is not the original draft. Abao felt the first draft lacked emotion, and Ichikawa pointed this out, so Abao rewrote it from scratch; During the theme development, derivative adaptations from this story were considered, and other BGM tracks were developed from it.
After completing "SHIN -namasute #5-," we received hopeful feedback for even brighter insights. Abao also wrote "Namasute, Japan," shifting to Japanese elements, combining the koto and shamisen with the theme phrase.
After all the music was completed and Abao had moved on to the next project, the team realized there was no Haruto theme. He adapted the original 'Run!' featuring Haruto running, and arranged the more tranquil 'HARUTO -peaceful scene-'.
The tone of character music
"MAHIRO -the wind-" uses Malstrom audio combined with Scream effects to simulate distorted guitar, with slides played downward in real time from the keyboard; The rhythm section is based on Dr.REX, with Redrum's percussion tones layered.
"ASUKA -petit devil-" first completed the chorus and was finalized after about five rewrites. Abao paid special attention to the impression of the characters when they appear, opening the story with Belltree to convey a youthful and bright atmosphere.
