Memory as a clue
By exploring the map and talking to characters, Long'er gradually collects 'memory fragments' presented as items. Some dialogue options can only be selected after obtaining the corresponding fragments, so restoring memories not only supplements the background but also directly changes the events that can be advanced. Taiga Oisaka and the others' reactions to Ryuuji will change depending on the information he has gathered.
Cleaning and branching
Even though Long'er lost his memory, he still kept the habit of loving to clean. Players can use the "High Beard Stick" to clear locations in the scene and search for new memory fragments; The number of clearable times is limited, so you need to select an investigation point. Key dialogue leads to divergent routes, and developer interviews confirm the game has prepared 21 possible endings.
Facial expressions
For important conversations, MotionPortrait is used, allowing the person's gaze, blinking, lip movement, and facial movements to change with the conversation. The development team explained in interviews that the action actions must be adjusted according to the original characters' personalities; The same face's reaction to different emotions is part of the show's work. The game thus combines memory collection, relationship changes, and face-to-face dialogue.
The original campus relationships
Long'er is skilled at housework and secretly loves Shinaori; Minori is also Taiga's friend. Kitamura is close friends with Ryuuji, and transfer student Ami is Kitamura's childhood friend. Amnesia turns these existing relationships into clues that need to be re-examined, and the characters' original personalities still affect how they respond to Long'er.
Creating expressions
The developers adjusted the girl's gaze, blink, and lip movements one by one; Male figures did not adopt the same MotionPortrait sessions. Parrot Parrot-chan also uses a diagonal perspective and sudden turning motions to emphasize the differences between birds and humans. Director Nobuyuki Kobayashi was responsible for planning and specifications, Moriyoshi Shibata provided technical support, Koji Kameya oversaw production, and Kenta Kanayama handled the production for Bandai.
Mini-games with attached calendars
Run! Temori Tiger is a side-scrolling action game controlled by Taiga. There is also a fully voiced Mirano Chat Calendar, which plays greetings by time and date, and features an alarm function; These supplementary content are included separately from the ending of main storyline 21.
PSP version and bonuses
The game was released on April 30, 2009. The limited box includes the original author's short story, setting materials, a DVD, and related accessories. The Nendoroid Petit included a pre-order bonus as a pre-order gift.
Homeroom teacher, mother, and parrot
Yuri Koigakubo is the 30-year-old homeroom teacher, and Sumire Kano is the former student council president known as the 'big brother.' Ryuuji's mother, Yasuko, works in Bishamonten's heavenly kingdom; Meira is her name when she works; Takasu Family Parrot Parakeet-chan also has an independent voice acting.
Three character singing songs
Completion with lyrics by Akiko Watanabe, composed and arranged by Kaoru Okubo; Please Freeze features lyrics by Satomi, composition by Funta3, and arrangement by Yukari Hashimoto. All songs are performed by Taiga, Minori, and Ami, with a personal version prepared. The pre-parade (Otoko Shiru MAX VER.) was performed by Ryuuji, Kitamura, Haruta, and Noto, with lyrics, composition, and arrangement credited to the same as Complito.
Branching maps and card gameplay
The AI map uses a 3D tree map to show story progress, other routes, and item preview announcements. Super intense nervous breakdown! Limited-time pairings with 20 playing cards are made; the river adds cards or changes the arrangement, forcing players to recall.
The way to make lip movements and winks
Character lip movements are switched between three images, then hand-matched with expressions. Outside of MotionPortrait, the character illustrations also use the same single and double blink ratios, allowing different forms of character performances to maintain consistent adjustment methods.
Memory threshold in the conversation menu
When the corresponding memory item is missing, some session options will display as "????? And remain unavailable. After recovering the fragments, players have the chance to select these topics during key dialogues.
A look back at the events in the album
Album mode lets you view CGs of events you've already seen; When the CG is displayed, pressing the ○ button also lets you hear comments recalling the event.
