Finish writing first, then arrange the scene
In a 2023 PAX interview, Abby explained that Goodbye Princess uses pencils on paper, eliminating her usual outlining and coloring. After finishing the writing first, the two of them jointly decide which materials to draw and how to connect them so the visuals flow naturally and readers don't get lost. A MS Paint ending illustration from Tony's prototype was also kept in the demo version at the time thanks to her and others' suggestions.
A first-person redrawing of the scene
When making 'Goodbye Princess,' Abby had to redraw close-ups and backgrounds for actions like approaching doors and changing viewing angles. After the princess moves to a new location, she also needs a whole new set of character art; The first-person perspective limits the angles she can use for dramatic expression.
Discussion on naming and expansion concepts
Abby initially proposed the ironic 'Save the Princess' for 'Goodbye Princess,' and Tony's final title was determined by similar pronunciations. About two weeks after the original release, she reflected that part of the third chapter ended too early, and some forms still lacked an independent third chapter; Tony recalled that the request to expand the AMA about a week after the release also prompted the two to discuss a new direction that day.
