From coloring to the first key drawing
After graduating from university, G Yusuke entered Yoyogi Animation Academy Fukuoka Campus, and later joined light as a coloring artist. The internal rotating head system allowed him to start managing image materials about six months after joining; In the 'Dies irae' project, which began around 2005, he was responsible for key animation for the first time and also did some coloring.
Japanese-style themes and painting process
During the development of "Dies irae," he discussed with Takashi Shoda about the next installment using a Japanese-style theme, after which Shoda proposed "Kamju Kagura." He creates ink textures for his works and designs the gentian costume with reference to old attire; The composition progresses through sketching and shading; the 2013 process involves drawing lines with pencil and mechanical pencils, then processing them in Photoshop.
Battle scenes and dialogue
G Yusuke likes to draw battle moments, but battle scenes are often accompanied by dialogue. Therefore, he needed to control the visuals to a level where the characters could still speak, avoiding inconsistent clashes.
