According to the customs of the early generations
Rintaro Okabe and his partners from the Future Props Research Institute create strange inventions in Akihabara and unexpectedly discover a device that can send mail to the past. The changes caused by the time experiment gradually involve Kurisu Makise, Mayuri Shiina, Itaru Hashida, and other research institute members, attracting factions interested in the time machine.
Animation and routes
This version uses footage from 24 episodes of the TV anime and also creates new animations for character routes not covered in the TV version. Progression is still player-driven, and story branches do not become a single playback order due to full animation. The anime was produced by WHITE FOX, with a script credited by Naotaka Hayashi and character designs by huke.
Publishing and subsidiary games
The European and American versions were released on February 19, 2019. In this region, the PS4 and Steam versions come with a schematic of Linear Binding, while the Switch version includes the retro-style 8-BIT ADV STEINS; GATE》。 These side works each have their own stories and cannot be combined with the character paths of the main ELITE series.
Theme song
The opening theme "COSMIC LOOPER" is performed by Kanako Ito, with lyrics and composition by Chiyomaru Shikura, and arrangement by Maon Kuge. The ending film "Annie's Ring" was performed under the name Phantasm (FES cv. Yui Sakakibara), with lyrics by Shikura and music and arrangement by Tatsushi Hayashi.
Subsequent sets
The 2024 Japanese budget physical Switch version offers a download bonus for Famicom ADV, while the digital version does not include this bonus. That same year, the 15th anniversary set also combined "Divergencies Assort" with ELITE; The scope of the set is different from the 2018 first edition.

Mayuri, Kurenai Risu, and True (ELITE mutually exclusive branch, spoilers)
"Transparent Stardust" causes Okabe to date the saved Mayuri, but Kurisu still dies. "The Melt of Causality" allows Okabe and Kurisu to express their feelings for each other, but it does not change her death. True "Steinsgate on the Boundary" After the first rescue failed, a second operation was driven by future Okabe's video, changing to the past Okabe mistakenly believing Kurisu had died, while allowing her to truly survive.
Mobile phone operation in the animation screen
In the 2017 development notes, Shikura proposed remaking the Phone interface and adding the action of Okabe taking out the phone, so the interface would connect with the animation scenes.
