Fuyuki's Holy Grail War

The story revolves around a ritual held in Fuyuki: seven magicians each summon a Heroic Spirit as a Servant to compete for the Holy Grail, which is said to grant wishes. Shirou Emiya was rescued by Kiritsugu Emiya during a fire ten years ago, and since then has studied magic under him, aiming to "become a partner in justice." Ten years later, Shirou was unexpectedly attacked during the Holy Grail War and was saved by a sword-wielding Servant, thus becoming a participant.

Based on the 2004 PC adaptation

TYPE-MOON released its first edition PC visual novel in January 2004; The 2006 DVD-ROM version has the same content as the first edition, but no character voice acting. The story begins with Shirou and Saber's encounter, and classmates like Rin Tohsaka and Sakura Mato also enter the fight. The subsequent Realta Nua and REMASTERED versions are different; REMASTERED includes three routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel.

The beginning of the Holy Grail War

The Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City is jointly participated in by the Master and summoned Servants. Servants appear as heroic spirits, and different factions compete for the Holy Grail that can grant their wishes. For ordinary people living in the city, this battle took place on a side that should not be publicly known.

Shirou Emiya survived a great fire and was adopted by Kiritsugu Emiya, influenced by his ideals during his growth. After encountering the Holy Grail War, Shirou meets Saber, a swordsman class. Originally not fully understanding the rules, he had to make judgments when other participants had already begun to act.

Characters and chapters

Saber is the Servant who forms a contract with Shirou; Rin Tohsaka comes from a magician family and fights alongside Archer; Sakura Matou is closely connected to Shirou's daily life. The identities presented at the beginning of the story cannot replace the explanations of their circumstances in subsequent chapters.

This article is usually discussed in three chapters: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel. The three chapters share a common basic setting but develop along different character relationships. Watching an animation in a particular chapter does not mean you have read all the game text, nor should the episode order be treated as the order of the game chapters.

Saber is the servant who has formed a contract with Shirou; Rin Tohsaka comes from a magician family and fights alongside Archer; Sakura Matou is closely connected to Shirou's daily life. Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel follow Fuyuki's Holy Grail War setting, each developing along different character relationships and gradually unfolding their situations.
