Early methods of training new employees
Tomo Kataoka, reflecting on NekoNekosoft's staff development, said the team once selected promising but inexperienced individuals, letting them learn through about a year of actual production before moving toward independence. He compared the organizational form of the time to individual associations; After the brand suspended operations in 2006, the ongoing recruitment of new talent also came to a halt.
The prompt screen effect of "New Dormitory Funeral."
Tetsuo Yuki from "Shinjuku Funeral" recalls that the message prompt sound uses a performance style similar to stamina bars: when there are many messages, there is energy; when there are few, there is weakness. The accompanying visual effects did not exist during early development and were later produced by NekoNeko Soft.
The base version of Jirijiri Z is ported to Unity
In the July 2026 interview with 'Koi Shisai Gai', Nekonekosoft first created the base version using Kirikiri Z, then ported it to Unity via OVERLAP. Kataoka said this continues the cooperative approach of first completing the version on their own PC environment, then having external companies handle other platforms using their own engines. Kamioka recalled that the UI adjustment capabilities of the first demo version were still insufficient, and the defect of nonstop mouth movements during autoplay was still unresolved, so the UI was further refined before official release.
An early English translation of 'silver'
According to Tomo Kataoka's interview recollections published in July 2026, when Neko Neko Soft released "Silver" in 2000, it temporarily added English translations and provided options for Japanese or English texts to help overseas readers understand the content. Kataoka also sought English-speaking voice actors to develop English phonetics, which led to his acquaintance with Yuko Goto.
The screenwriter also participated in the performance
In Nachi Tsurugi's 2021 memoir, Nekoneko Soft requested the screenwriter to also participate in directing. When working as a team, he wrote instructions for the scene darkening and the start of the BGM together.
