An eternal paradise
The legendary Perfect Peach Blossom Spring preserves secrets related to the Huyue Kingdom's secret art of immortality. The experiences of villagers and outsiders gradually show that a life that never changes can also mean adversity. Nine hundred souls await the "Flower Burial Man," choosing to stay, leave, or end everything here, forming the main direction of the story.
Characters of day and night
By day, the goddess and twin flowers are gentle and yearn for the outside world, while at night, the same-looking girls appear with different personalities and the power to dominate the paradise. The amnesiac girl, the weaving widow, the village chief, and the hunter each have their own day-and-night appearances. The characters do not serve only the same romance route; the official introduction includes exclusive endings for romance or friendship.
branching and composing works
The developers introduced the base game with about 200,000 words and twenty endings. Some options in the first playthrough are locked, and hidden choices will be unlocked afterward. Ji Ling was responsible for production, scriptwriting, and performance, Hanser participated in the female lead's voice work, and Nekoday assisted with interfaces, publicity, and some voice work. "Butterfly of the Broken Mirror" is an additional content and is listed separately from the main game.
Day and night residents
The twin flowers of daylight are descendants of priests and are regarded by villagers as figures related to the mountain god; At night, girls with identical appearances but different temperaments appear. The village also includes amnesiac girls, weaving widows, village chiefs, and hunters, many of whom display different states day and night. Taoyuan, together with the ancient Kingdom of Huyue, forms the backdrop for the mystery of immortality.
Different sources of soundtrack
The first three tracks in the soundtrack—'Peach Blossom Land Daytime,' 'Peach Blossom Land Night View,' and 'Soul Lingering on the Other Shore'—were produced by Nekoday, while 'Dance of the Halberd' was produced by Ruili Music. The remaining original tracks were produced in collaboration between Candy_wind and its AI music tool Antinomi; Additional tracks will be added in subsequent catalogues, with credits recorded within a clearly defined scope.
Original soundtrack included
The game's soundtrack was released on November 4, 2021, introducing 20 original tracks. The current catalog also includes additional tracks 21–27, totaling 27 tracks. The first three tracks of the original version were produced by Nekoday, the fourth by Ruili Music, and tracks 5–20 by Candy_wind and Antinomi.
Ji Ming's mission and Starry Sky Lake
Ji Ming was originally a detective searching for missing girls, hypnotizing himself to infiltrate the paradise. The timer rang, and only then did he recover his mission memory. The night before, he defied the villagers' warnings and came to Starry Sky Lake, spoke with Shuanghua, and told her about the outside world; After regaining his memories, his investigation gradually connects these conversations to the village's secrets.
The villagers' backgrounds and emotional knots
Zheng, who lived as a widow during the day, raised Little Stone; In reality, Little Stone is the younger brother of Zheng Chongfu, her lover who died in battle before marriage, and is adopted by her as her son. The hunter Daniu was once the Flower Princess's bodyguard, but after immortality, he lost the person he needed to protect; The village chief always remembered that he had once been a deserter on the battlefield. At night, villagers face not only madness but also personal emotional knots that cannot be resolved over the long years.
The ending of the Longevity Stone and the Burial Flower
Shuanghua's true identity is the princess Hua of the ancient Huyue Kingdom. She swallowed the Longevity Stone, leaving the villagers' souls in the illusion, but her body died within seven days. The long immortality gradually torments the villagers, turning them into mountain ghosts at night. In the ending of 'Burying Flowers,' Ji Ming persuades everyone to open the princess's stone coffin and take the Longevity Stone; He swallowed the stone and used the remaining six days of his life to show the villagers the outside world.
The two stories of the butterfly in the broken mirror
The paid DLC "Butterfly of the Broken Mirror" tells the story of Yan Yueqiu, who is already dead at the start of the story. In the first half, she serves as the perspective character, explaining the reasons behind Qinghe's departure from home and her search for a paradise; In the second half, he returns to Ji Ming, letting him enter Taoyuan three days early, changing the story's timeline. The Steam channel record set the release date as July 22, 2022, while the developers previously announced it was scheduled for July 23. The DLC adds seven tracks composed by Candy_wind; The free Dream Immersion ending, which the author separately announced, belongs to the double flower retention route.
As wished, the real family of Little Stone
The Zheng family's original name was Ruyuan. She fell in love with Zheng Chongfu, who fought in the anti-Qin war to prove herself, but died in battle before their marriage. Xiao Shitou was actually Zheng Chongfu's younger brother, Zheng Chonggui, who was adopted as his son on the village chief's suggestion to avoid the pursuit of the men in the village. The widow's and mother-son identities in broad days obscure this real experience of lovers and parenting.
The entrusted target is Qinghe
At first, Qinghe (Su Xiaoye) is presented as Yan Yueqiu's companion, and the daughter Ji Ming is entrusted to search for is named Yan Yueqiu. "The Butterfly of the Broken Mirror" further reveals that the two share the same body. Before the story begins, Yueqiu is killed by villagers to protect her, and her soul turns into a pig; The pork Ji Mingchu tasted in Taoyuan was connected to the person he had come to look for. In different branches, he can escape with Qinghe, or send her out and stay behind. If the rescue fails, it leads to a different ending.
The departure and disappearance of the dawn
In the ending of Dawn, Ji Ming brings Shuanghua to meet Leon outside the village, but she disappears because she is far from the Longevity Stone. Later, Qinghe told Ji Ming that Shuanghua kept calling his name before leaving. Their feelings were only clarified after this farewell.
Amusement Park and Confession in Dreams
In his deep dream, Ji Ming retained Chenxi's memories. After many cycles, he asked the nighttime twin flowers to create an amusement park, treating it as the outside world the twin flowers longed for during the day. The Twin Flowers in Broad Day actually realized the amusement park was fake but did not expose it; Ji Ming finally took the initiative to reveal the truth and the long cycle of reincarnation; she embraced him and listened to these experiences. Their relationship shifts from maintaining an illusion to facing together the situation of being unable to truly leave the paradise.
The reason for leaving home in 'Butterfly of the Broken Mirror.'
"Butterfly of the Broken Mirror" adds to Yan Yueqiu's experience before arriving at Peach Blossom Spring: her mother nearly lost her life while burning charcoal, and afterwards endured trafficking, school bullying, and her father's coldness. Searching for Peach Blossom Spring meant leaving her old life behind and seeking a place to escape the world. After entering the village, she discovered that there were also inescapable injuries here.
The first road of firelight
Before Ji Ming arrives in this story, Yan Yueqiu and Su Xiaoye have already sensed the danger of Peach Blossom Spring and try to escape by passing through the cave entrance at dusk along the Huozhao Road, but fail to break through the villagers' blockade. After failing, Su Xiaoye chooses to lose his memory and become a villager, while Yan Yueqiu chooses death. This backstory explains where the amnesiac girl and the deceased commission target seen in this story came from.
Sharing body and memories of her sister
The bonus chapter reveals that Qing He (Su Xiaoye) and Yan Yueqiu share the same body. Yan Yueqiu once mistook Su Xiaoye for her twin sister, but later recollections explained her relationship with her adoptive parents and their deceased daughter. The choices of the two consciousnesses in Peach Blossom Land differ. This installment presents them as two girls traveling together, while the supplementary chapter further explores the connections between the body, memory, and the rescue target.
Protecting the door at night
"The Butterfly of the Broken Mirror" adds the reason why ghosts and monsters cannot enter houses at night: the double flowers set a barrier on the door. The nighttime village and indoor safety boundaries connect to her actions to maintain order in Peach Blossom Spring.
Soundtrack requirements and post-generation adjustments
Ji Ling wrote down the scenes, mood, duration, instrument style, and BPM requirements for each piece of music, and provided two or three reference songs. Musicians submit their demos first, and after confirmation, refine the details. Production review attributed the compositions of "Morning Leisure," "Bond Connection," and "Blazing Peach Blossom" to Antinomi, Candy_wind mainly revised and tuned; Candy_wind also listed "Field Labor" as the soundtrack completed by the system in interviews.
Detective music when restoring identity
"Blood Rush," "Feast of Madness," and "Detective Hour" were personally produced by Candy_wind. In an interview, he named "Detective Moment" his most satisfying song of the time, saying it was used for scenes where the protagonist recalls his identity, and the combination of plot and soundtrack exceeded his expectations.
