Yukon Base
In May 2001, test pilots and engineers from various countries gathered at the Yukon base to participate in the development of a new tactical aircraft. Humanity relies on tactical machines to resist BETA, yet still needs more effective weapons to turn the tide. Multinational cooperation is established in the face of a common enemy, but is also influenced by technological competition and intelligence battles.
How brave is he and who rely on him
After a fatal training accident, Yuzai was transferred from his original unit to join the US-Japan joint development unit. His rebellious style clashed with Wei Yi, who was in charge of the project. Weiyi comes from a traditional family and carries the trauma of the imperial capital campaign, putting his tasks before his personal life; The two needed to build trust to keep the development moving forward.
Beyond cooperation
Members of other countries, such as Soviet soldier Kriska, also joined Yuzai's network. The friction between the bases is not just about incompatible personalities; countries also try to maintain their advantage after the war, so sharing technology and protecting secrets are at odds. The side story supplements this warworld story from the situation of the developers.
This chapter and prologue version
The Steam Remastered edition, released in 2022, offers Japanese audio and Japanese-English versions, but only this story is included; "Imperial Capital Burning," which depicts life in Kyoto and Yui Military Academy in 1997, is available as a standalone product on Steam. The official series notes for DMM and DLsite versions include this prologue, so the scope of the purchase page should be determined separately by platform.
Development teams and maintenance personnel
XFJ aims to improve Shiranui through Japan-US cooperation, with Yui responsible for the Japanese Empire side and Yuya as chief development guardian. The Argus experimental team was commanded by Turkish soldier Ibrahim, with Nepal's Talissa, Sweden's Stella, and Italy's VG providing close-quarters, sniping, and maneuvering techniques. Chief mechanic Vincent and Yuya had already been partners and friends during their time in the US military.
Between trials and combat units
Soviet Idal was commanded by Yezhi, who was also responsible for the ПЗ program and proposed Kamchatka combat trials; Krisca and Eena pilot a two-seat Su-37UB, with the Red Sisters being their duo title. Cui Yifei leads the Storm Squad of the United China Front, competing against Argus and Idal. Leon and Sharon from the 65th Combat Training Regiment in the United States were former colleagues of Yuya; The Soviet Zhar battalion was commanded by Latrova, and the young Nastarsha served both as adjutant and company commander.
Operator and front-end position
XFJ has three other dedicated operators: Sergeant Niiram serves as the organizer, Corporal Feve has combat experience, and Corporal Lida is a newcomer eager to learn. The official website directly positions "Imperial Capital Burning" as a prequel to the period when Wei Yi was a candidate for guards, so the character in this work, Wei Yi, is clearly connected to the prequel characters.
TE PS3 Main Story: Takemirei Attacks Argus's Training Attack
Yui piloted Takemikazu to attack the Argus experimental team, engaging in a training battle with Yuya's side.
TE PS3 Main Story: Electromagnetic projectile cannon in my first real battle
Yuya used the prototype Type 99 electromagnetic projection gun for the first time in actual combat, achieving significant results. Later, while protecting weapon secrets, Yui fell into danger, and Yuya arrived piloting Shiranui Type 2 to rescue her.
TE PS3 Main Story: Prevent Red Shift
A terrorist attack occurred at the Yukon base, and the BETA was released from the research facility. Enya and Kriska went to clear the BETA to prevent the Red Shift; Yui and Yuya arrived soon after, stopping the out-of-control tactical machine and averting the crisis.
TE PS3 Main Story: Argus's support for rescue
When Yuya goes to rescue Kriska, Argus also receives orders to capture him. The squad then stopped pursuing forces from other countries, allowing his rescue operation to continue.
