Dragon Tiger Fight: Portable version related production
Director Guyzware was responsible for planning, specifications, and contract management, explaining how eye contact, blinking, and lip movements matched the characters' emotions.
Choosing the MotionPortrait model
In a 2009 development interview for "Ryukoto: Portable Edition," Nobuyuki Kobayashi recalled that the previous console adventure project had considered extensive use of animation, but since the game side would increase control difficulties, they shifted to MotionPortrait. About a year after first encountering this technology, he reviewed the latest demos again to look for solutions that closely resemble animation and can be controlled by games.
Blink and lip gesture finely adjust
Kobayashi applied the single and double blink ratios derived from the previous project to MotionPortrait in "Ryuko Tou," as well as character portraits that did not use this technology. The team gathered feedback from all developers for detailed adjustments; Lip movements are shown in three images, then manually adjusted to match ever-changing expressions.
Material and requirements for parrot performances
When making Parrot Inko-chan for 'Dragon Tiger Fight,' animation was also being produced in parallel, so I lacked materials. Kobayashi conceived the unusual characters from the novel and requested Silicon Studio to display them diagonally; The specific actions were continued by the planners, who clearly credited the results to the other party during the interview.
