The case of a rainy night
On a rainy night in November, a woman was found dead on the carousel of an abandoned amusement park, with her left eye gouged out. Ida recognized the victim, and strange noises were heard at the scene. The investigation begins with the murder case before him, gradually touching on the relationships and memories of those involved.
Special Investigation Team
Ida belongs to ABIS and uses a Psync device to enter others' dreams. Aiba usually has his left eye, appears humanoid in dreams, and when leaving the eye socket, he takes on the appearance of a small animal. Boss oversees the investigation, engineer Pewter maintains Psync equipment, and also participates in Aiba's development.
Clues in reality
Players question characters and examine objects in the scene, advancing their reasoning through testimony and evidence. Prosthetic eyes offer observation methods such as magnification, thermal imaging, and X-rays, enabling them to detect information invisible to the general field of vision. Internet idol Iris, her supporter Ota, and Mizuki, who temporarily stays at the Date house, are all connected to the investigation.
Six-minute dream
Obstacles in Somnium are called Mental Locks, which must be removed through various interactions. Each action consumes a certain amount of time, and the total time to enter the dream is six minutes; Wrong attempts can sometimes lead to clues. Dream outcomes change story branches, allowing players to return to forks and try other actions.
Production and distribution
Yusuke Kozaki was responsible for character design. The 2019 North American digital version was released on September 17, physical on September 24, and the European version on September 20, with launch platforms including PS4, Switch, and Steam.
