Game language table

The game language table separately records the menu interface, story text, and voice acting. The display language on the store page does not mean the game supports that language; Community translation and localization included in the original version should also be noted separately.

The meaning of each column

ProjectExplanation
interfaceThe language of menus, settings, and operation prompts.
SubtitlesThe language of game text versus dialogue text.
Fully audioStore-marked voiceover support; There may still be exceptions for characters like the protagonist.

Example

Little Busters! The English Edition lists both English and Japanese texts as well as Japanese dubbing, but does not list Chinese Simplified. After the Steam Store itself switches to Chinese, the game language table will not change accordingly.

Community patch

Unofficial translations should separately indicate the patch name, applicable version, and source, and will not be counted in the original language.

Read the language table column by column

The interface mainly covers menus, settings, and operation prompts; the subtitle section records game text support, while the full audio section records voice acting support. For games that mainly rely on text narration, first confirm whether the main text is readable, then check whether the menu and voice lines meet your needs.

The language list is the issuance information for a particular product, not a commitment to all platforms. If the page does not clearly state language support, first check the publisher's announcement or the platform's instructions; Do not fill in blanks with another entry in the same series or a different platform version.

Store language versus game language

When opening the Chinese Simplified Steam page, "Little Busters!" English Edition still lists English and Japanese texts and Japanese dubbing, and clearly states that Chinese Simplified is not supported. The display language for page buttons and store introductions will not change the text support for this game version.

The Steam version of LUNARiA lists Chinese Simplified, English, and Japanese text, as well as Japanese audio; The official introduction also states that environment settings and the electronic guide support these three languages. The tables of both games can be checked separately; just because they belong to the same key does not mean the default configuration is the same.

Record the specific scope of localization

When writing an entry, indicate the full name of the platform, product, and the date of access; If text and speech can be set separately, record them separately. When the official language switching feature is mentioned, you can add the location or restrictions for switching, but don't just infer real-time switching based on multi-language lists.

Chinese should also be distinguished between Simplified and Traditional Chinese according to actual support. If there is no evidence, do not combine both points into full support; Bilingual side-by-side display and switching between two languages are also different functions.

Community patches will be explained separately

Community translation should indicate the project name, publisher, applicable platform, and version, indicating that it is content that has been installed separately. The original official language list is still recorded according to the publisher's information and does not change to native support due to patches.

When citing patch materials, prioritize linking to the original release page and indicate the verification date. For issues such as compatibility with new updates or the need for a reopening, there should be actual records of publisher explanations or clearly marked scopes; Unconfirmed information remains pending verification.

The three languages should be filled out separately

The language table should be divided into at least three columns: interface, subtitles, and full voice. Interface language affects menus and settings, subtitle language affects story text, and voice lines affect character performances; Based on the issuer's actual form.

Examples of two products

《Little Busters! English Edition features Japanese and English interfaces and subtitles, with the full audio only in Japanese. LUNARiA features Chinese Simplified, Japanese, and English text, settings, and an electronic guide, with full audio only in Japanese.

Patches are listed from separate sources

Additional translations or player patches are recorded separately from the product's built-in text, with publishers, corresponding versions, licenses, and terms of use. When the main text quotes a certain translation, the translation status is preserved to avoid mixing different translations with the same official text.

Check the time and platform

Indicate the verification date, store link, and platform on the side of the form. Updates may add more languages, and the language ranges for the console and PC versions may differ; Announced plans are listed separately.
