Artificial life that can laugh and cry

In 'My Merry May,' boarding high school student Kyosuke Watarase receives a device sent by his family, containing the humanoid artificial lifeform Replis, developed by his father and older brother. Kyosuke originally wanted to set her up as the ideal girl, but due to an accident, she activated Re, who behaved like a child. After the secret began living together, Kyosuke and those around him gradually faced the emotional manifestations of her being not an ordinary machine. "My Merry Maybe" shifts to college student Hiroto Kishimori and Re, who has lost his memory and has an unknown origin.

The two protagonists and their relationship changes

At first, Kyosuke only wants a peaceful life, but Reu's appearance forces him to reconsider artificial life and responsibility; Childhood friend Haruna Hitoe, his friend Ryo Hagimoto, and classmates also get involved in their daily lives. In the sequel, Hiroto originally lacked a goal, but after interning in a remote port town, he took in Re, who had lost his memory, and through caring for and spending time together, began to reflect on the meaning of existence. The protagonists and stages of the two stories differ, but they all revolve around Reu's identity, relationships, and emotions.

Collection structure and additional chapters

"With Be" is not a single new storyline, but a complete series that combines "My Merry May" with its sequel, "My Merry Maybe," and its follow-up story. MAGES.'s official introduction lists the additional chapter "Beginning" that tells Kyosuke's story before "May," "Metempsychosis" connects the two works, and there is also an "Epilogue" that extends from a certain ending of "May." Reading these chapters can fill in the gap between Reゥ's origin and the two main stories.

Original release and new port

"My Merry May with be" was first released in 2005, containing "May," "Maybe," and additional chapters. MAGES. will release an HD port in 2026, available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam; Upgraded visuals to preserve the series of stories from the collection.

Two chapters with companions

May centers around the high school dormitory, intertwining Hitoe and Kyosuke's old friendship, Ryo's romance with Motomi, and Tae's management responsibilities. Maybe switches to the teaching internship stage, where Yuma, Minori, Mizukami Kyo, and others meet Hiroto and Reu; Reese also appears in the latter part.

Additional episodes and high-definition music bonuses

The beginning begins with an email sent by Kyosuke to his brother, Metempsychosis fills the gap between the two main stories, and Epilogue continues from a Maybe ending. The 2026 console and Steam versions will be released on June 25 and August 3 respectively. The bonus music is a 60-track data file, and MP3 and WAV are two formats from the same directory.

May: The rules of dorm life

Tae demanded that guests stay late, eat breakfast properly, and not bring women into the room, and that any troubles she could discuss with her promptly. By following these requirements, she was quite lenient with managing her daily life.

Maybe: Honoka's treatment
