Four seasons
The original PC version of the Spring Chapter was released in April 2014, the Summer Chapter in April 2015, the Autumn Chapter in May 2016, and the Winter Chapter in September 2017. The collection brings together these completed chapters, making it suitable for reading the gradually changing connections between characters in seasonal order.
Two reading modes
FOUR SEASONS mode presents the four seasons as a continuous progression, while ORIGINAL mode retains the format of individual playable chapters. Both modes can be switched from the title screen, so collections can be reread in full or enter individual entries.
Visuals and sound
The PS4 version presents Shannai Mizuki's original artwork in full HD at 1920×1080, with improved voice acting and background music quality. The visual update mainly serves the existing four pieces of content and should not be treated as a new story for Season 5.
Distribution and production
The PS4 version was released by PROTOTYPE on March 7, 2019, featuring full voice acting. Sugina Mizuki participated in planning and key animation, Hatsumi Shimizu wrote the screenplay, and MANYO was responsible for the music; Each of the four individual articles has its own entry, allowing you to view introductions to people and events separately.
Different seasonal states within the same academy
The official collection archives include Suo, Mayuri, Tachibana, Erika, Chidori, Yuzuha, Nerine, Berry, Ringo, and Dalia. Chidori only transferred to the academy from the summer arc; Amitié and the neighborhood association's roles change with the seasons, with Suo and Tachibana taking over as president and vice president in the winter chapter.
Sound Collection and Appreciation
PS4 Collections allow you to adjust the volume of character voice lines individually, create up to 200 save files, and arrange your collected voices into playlists or designated background music. There is a separate appreciation menu for the visuals, music, and ending list.
From packaging collection to continuous processes
According to a 2019 interview between Sugina Mizuki and Toshio Tabeda, PS4's "FLOWERS Four Seasons" initially considered including four titles in a single package. After Shannai requested to play through the four seasons consecutively, PROTOTYPE changed and reworked the complex story markers originally based on loops after the autumn arc, completing the four-season continuous flow.
Reading feature for Switch collections
The Switch version retains two reading modes: four consecutive seasons and single stories, with a maximum of 200 standard save files. You can restart from a specified message in the log, and after reading the save file, you can also revert it; Saved voice lines can be arranged in a custom order and paired with game BGM, and auto-sleep can be turned off during auto-reading or video playback.
