Story summary
Yinhua disappeared on the night of the summer festival. Five years later, Ryuusei, now a high school student, returns to Himeshima, only to find that no one knows where she has gone. He was about to leave when he met Ginka, who still looked like a child; She doesn't remember her own name, but she remembers the shooting stars.
Production staff
The work was produced by Asta Konno, Yusano, and others who participated in ATRI -My Dear Moments-. Supporting character design is by Akio Watanabe, and Ginka's Japanese voice is by Ikumi Hasegawa.
Returning to his hometown five years later
At the summer festival on Hime-no-shima, Ginka Shinomiya, Ryusei Aoba's childhood friend, suddenly disappeared. The islanders interpreted her disappearance as a "disappearance," and after the meteor, she left the island to live in Tokyo. Five years later, as a high school student, he returns to his hometown during the summer vacation, just wanting to confirm whether Yinhua has ever come back and whether she can live an ordinary life; But the answer was that no one had ever seen her since. As Ryusei was about to leave the island in a loss, a girl who still looked like a child appeared and called out his name. She is Yinhua, but she doesn't remember her own name or past, only that she likes meteors.
The relationship between silver flowers and meteors
Before their disappearance, Ginka and Ryusei were childhood friends and shared memories of life on Himejima; When they reunited five years later, their grasp of the same past was asymmetrical. Ryusei returns carrying memories of her high school years and questions about her disappearance, while Yinhua seems stuck in her childhood appearance, knowing almost nothing about her own experiences. The island's acquaintances, festivals, and residents' explanations of "Shenyin" add a local legend to their reunion. The plot not only rebuilds the rhythm of their relationship but also maintains suspense through questions like why Yinhua hasn't grown up and why she suddenly returned.
Island summer and romance suspense
Frontwing promotes "GINKA" as a visual novel, juxtaposing a quiet island summer vacation, childhood friends reuniting, and unexplained supernatural phenomena. The festival is both the moment of Yinhua's disappearance and an event repeatedly mentioned in the collective memories of the islanders; Meteor's return brings old friendships back into real life. Players learn about Hime-no-shima, Ryusei's memories, and Ginka's abnormal status through reading and character conversations. The story gradually shifts from a gentle sense of reunion to a mystery, but does not delve into her true experiences or ending.

The festival five years ago and two honeysuckle flowers
[Spoiler for This Article] Ryusei is about to undergo surgery on an island due to heart disease, and the teacher tells Yinhua the news. On the night of the festival, Yinhua lands on the Island of the Gods, and Ryusei falls into the sea and dies searching for her. Yinhua gave her love for him, in exchange for the heart of God to bring him back to life; The feelings left on the island form a childhood form of Ginka, while the real Ginka continues to grow up.
Part One: The Hidden World NEXT
[Main Spoiler] It took five years for Meteor Resurrection to take five years. Hime-no-shima in the first film is a hidden world seen during this process. He spends time with Ginka and also meets Yinhua, who comes looking for him; After Ginka disappeared, the island of dreams ended, and he returned to reality. NEXT continues from a year later. Although Yinhua has lost her love, she develops feelings for Ryusei again.
A mother's rescue mission and temporary duties
[NEXT Spoilers] The gods' unfulfilled wishes turned into curses, and Ginka was also corrupted. His mother, Karen, believed that killing the Meteor with the Divine Heart could ease the curse, but he proposed evacuating the islanders and reorganizing the festival to send the god back to the Island of the Resting God. Yangkui takes on temporary duties, traveling alongside Meteor and Hualian; During the conflict, Kusa-ni stopped Karen from harming Ryusei.
The flower and the hiruko god and the final promise
[Spoiler for the Endgame] After landing on the island, Ryusei sees the past of Hiruko God and Hana, and enters the dreams repeatedly created by Ginka again. He ultimately uses divine power to revive Hua, who helps break the god's curse, fulfilling the wish he had entrusted to him. The ending returns to a happy world without disappearing: young Ryusei watches meteors with Yinhua, eats the promised apple candy, and grows up to reunite on the coast.
Theme song CD in a special boxed edition
The PC and Nintendo Switch special editions bundled with the original soundtrack, released on September 19, 2024, include "Star Trail" and "Yume no Ukihashi -" in full length and include them as game BGM. "Star Trail" is performed by Ginka Shinomiya (CV: Ikumi Hasegawa), and "Yume no Ukihashi - Yume no Ukihashi -" is performed by Haruna Aoki. The vocal range of this CD differs from the post-production digital soundtrack composed of twenty BGM, OP, and OP accompaniment, including EDs not listed on the digital disc.
Forms move from the hidden world to reality
In the Switch version of NEXT, Ginnka appears as a real-world medium, a form she creates in the hidden world. She hears that Ryusei will return to reality and falls into place; Ryuxing picks up the paper and takes it back; Later, this item allowed her to reappear. People in the hidden world also use the forms and wishes that flow into it as mediums, preserving their actions and information.
Soji's negotiation and Natsuna's dilemma
In NEXT, Souji confronts the armed Karen and explains Ryusei's importance to Ginka and advocates for everyone to support Ryusei and seek solutions. The 2023 PC version gameplay records that Natsuna's teacher-student interactions with Yinka and Ryusei have sparked feelings for her, struggling between family mission and caring for students.
The two main storyline endings
The 2023 PC version is progressing along a single main storyline. Players start by starting from START to enter the initial ending, then continue reading from the newly added NEXT to enter the second main ending.
Failing Branches Everywhere (2023 PC Version Guide)
On the island where the gods live, choose to return; at The Thing That Comes from the Sea, choose to accept death; at the Extinguished Fire, choose to ask Ginka to handle tomorrow's matters. Each leads to the first three failed endings. In the final part of NEXT, if you choose to fulfill God's wish in a dream, you enter the fourth failed ending.
Choices let players make decisions
Asta Konno arranged even more detailed choices for "GINKA" than for "ATRI." He wanted to leave Meteor's decision to the player as much as possible, even if the story hinted at a certain answer, he would still leave the possibility of a wrong choice leading to a different outcome.
AFTER clearing the game: AFTER and EXTRA
After clearing the main game, the menu will show NEXT, and after completing NEXT, an after-story AFTER will be added. Completing the second main ending unlocks EXTRA, where you can replay the BGM; The title screen background changes as you progress.
From the initial draft title to TGS promotion
Director Kazuya recalled that "GINKA" initially had a separate title proposal, but later shortened it to allow ATRI players to identify as a creative group. TGS2023 promotional video staff praise was personally written by Konno to convey the continued involvement of the creators.
Save and NEXT Entry (Switch version)
The Switch version requires archiving to save system data. If you exit the game immediately after the first NEXT entry, you must re-read the ending before re-entering for NEXT to return to the menu.
