My sister returned to Mihama
A few weeks after the Kitaoka University incident ended, Yuuki returned to the team. She was both capable and skilled at getting along with others, quickly earning the trust of other members. Murasaki feels that her sister surpasses her in almost every aspect, so she wonders if staying in Mihama is still meaningful. Sisterhood becomes a clue to observe her self-identity.
An encounter in a mountain village
The current unease brings up the past between Murasaki and Haruto. Back then, Haruto felt he lacked experience and entered a remote mountain village in search of new skills, investigating secret arts passed down through generations. Their meeting was closely tied to that search, which also marked the beginning of the subsequent tragedy. The narrative shifts from the campus to the village, supplementing the origins of the characters' current relationships.
The events that followed
The consequences of the actions in volume four form the backdrop of this volume, but the focus shifts to how Murasaki views her own worth and her relationships with her sister Haruto. The work continues to use a visual novel format without optional branches, with characters illustrated by Akio Watanabe and written by Ryuta Fujisaki. The present and memory sections jointly explain why Zi made the later request.
The sister returned to the team
A few weeks after the attack in the previous volume ended, Yuki Inukoma completed his overseas mission and returned to Mihama Class A. She and her sister are both ninjas, sociable, and quickly gain the trust of their classmates; Her cheerful words and actions don't mean she has any particularly close friends.
The unease of the sand season
Saki, the younger sister, feels that her sister is better in every way and gradually doubts the meaning of her staying at the academy. She and Yuki are truly sisterly by blood, and she has known Haruto since childhood, treating him as an older brother. Volume 5 revolves around these two close relationships.
A history deep in the mountains
In the past, Haruto entered a mountain village preserving secret techniques to improve his skills. Yi Shaji and he first met through this experience; Memories also connect the sense of loss before us to the starting point of the later tragedy. Comparing abilities on campus thus leads to the question of how the character becomes who they are today.
Position in the series
The consequences of volume 4 set the background for his reunion, while volume 5 shifts to the past stories of Saki, Yuki, and Haruto. Subsequent chapters continue to involve ordinary teachers and former CIRS members, then move on to large-scale actions against TFA.
Production and theme song
Original artwork by Akio Watanabe, SD art by Mai Nanaka, script by Ryuta Fujisaki; Hitoshi Fujima and Fumiki Matsuma provided the BGM. 'Sekai no Hate' is the game's theme song, performed by Marina Kono, with lyrics by Yuichi Kuwashima and music by Hitoshi Fujima.
Switch release
The Nintendo Switch download version was released on November 19, 2020. The text supports Japanese, English, and Chinese Simplified, with Japanese dubbing covering characters other than the protagonist. In the anime, Haruto's actor is credited to another carrier.
