The final invasion operation

The hacker group Steppenwolf, to which Toru Soma belongs, is preparing to end their activities, but their final target is the military database. The operation involves a battle between the military and terrorists, where familiar companions die before their eyes, and Tooru witnesses a mysterious girl from the internet. Afterwards, he became a pilot in the First Squad of the Intelligence Management Division of the United Nations Military Security Maintenance Bureau, investigating incidents between the real world and the internet.

Former partners and new units

Yuya Nonomura is Steppenwolf's leader and Tohru's close friend; Akira Nikaido is also from this group. Her childhood friend Tsukina Sasagiri once worked as a support group member, later transferred to VSS as a pilot, and continues to care for Tohru. Minori Segawa, a radio operator in the military's First Squad, supports Tohru and opposes cybercrime; Ayane Shidou keeps her distance from those around her because she strongly hates online terrorists.

Storyline battles with mobile suits

The adventure section progresses through reading and choices, while the combat section lets players directly control Shmikuram. Weapons don't just fire by pressing buttons: the same button switches attacks depending on normal dash, short dash, range, or close range. Each of the three buttons corresponds to four types of states, combining into twelve weapon positions, making range and movement methods part of the combo.

Weapon growth and difficulty

Battle results affect weapon growth and gradually unlock new weapons. Players can adjust difficulty and keys, as well as text speed and volume. After completing one round of story, a flowchart appears; continuing to progress will increase the number of viewable branches, making it easier to reposition the plot.

Hell and Survival Mode

After clearing the stage, Bald Hell offers specially designed battle stages, and accumulating points grants items used in the main story; Survival centers on continuous survival battles. Both modes can use weapons already trained in the main story to provide combat objectives outside the storyline.

New content in DC

The DC version adds event scenes drawn by Masaharu Kikuchi, as well as new 3D videos co-produced by Fuhiga of Roma, METALBLADE, and LOOPCUBE. The voice range is for characters other than the protagonist. The official website later promoted the PS2 version as well, but the dual voice system was considered an additional PS2 project.

Equipment and carriers

This version was released as a single GD-ROM, supporting VGA, vibration, arcade joystick, keyboard, and mouse. Story choices and a growthable action system together form the core of the game, while peripheral support provides different options for combat operations.

The routes listed in the DC/PS2 guide are now available

The Tsukisa Line opens after completing the Minori and Ayane lines; Then I opened Liang, Bachelor, and Mizusaka Ren in order. Each route also has an ending determined by choices or battle outcomes.

Minori Line: Invitation of Koo Won

Chapter 9: After trusting Minori's answer, accepting the Koo Won invitation leads to the 'end'; refusing leads to the 'Minori' ending.

The final divergence of the Ayane route

Chapter 6: Tooru enters the officer's office to help Ayane. In the end, he decides to kill and fight, leading to 'karma'; If you do not decide whether to kill in advance and still fight, it leads to 'return'; if you try to avoid battle, it leads to 'Ayane'.

Yue Cao Route: Joining and branching requirements

In the first chapter of the main storyline, Touka joins VSS together with Tsukina. Accepting Lingjia's temptation or surrender, whether to shoot a woman, determines three outcomes: 'Heavenly Prison,' 'Resurrection,' or 'Conjunction.'

Ryang Line: Battle with Yagisawa

Entering Chapter 6 of this route, you need to stop Ayane; Chapter 13: Battle with Yagisawa; victory leads to 'Ryan', defeat leads to 'oblivion.'

Bachelor Line: Entry Points and Battle Outcomes

Bachelorette corresponds to Hikaru Asakura. Main Storyline Chapter 12: Defeat her to reach the 'Hikaru' ending; When defeated, you either enter directly or return to the military base before entering, leading to 'Bachelor' and 'Hatred' respectively.

The electronic ghost corresponds to Mizusaka Ren. Chapter 11: Tou points out to her that what he sees is a dream; The meeting inside Leviathan, the mountain cabin operation, and whether to accept President Tachibana's temptation are linked to the endings of 'fusion,' 'eternity,' and 'pity.'

Victory and defeat and weapon growth

The outcome of battles can also change the story. DC released information introducing 60 types of weapons, which grow to level 3 with experience, and also includes various Force Crash finishing moves.

Division of production for DC ports

Among the DC port staff credits, Kataya Kimura wrote the script, HuneX handled development, Tomoaki Kashii served as development director, Takeshi Kataoka as programmer, and Yuka Kinoshita (Face Inc.) handled audio recording. The original production list with the ending on hold lists Hirasan and Kawachi's old man under "Sound/SE."

Theme song and 3D film soundtrack

In the DC version, the entire song "Face of Fact" sung by KOTOKO is used in the story. The new 3D video soundtrack, "CRUDE DIVE," was co-written by METAL BLADE and LOOPCUBE, signed by Fumiaki Kobayashi and Masayuki Ozaki, and mixed by LOOPCUBE.
