Reasons to become a nurse

Kaori experienced a near-death accident in childhood and later wished to care for others as she had helped herself. After actually starting her job, she had to adapt to hospital rules while also facing her lack of experience. Through a workplace encounter, the story helps her rediscover the distance between ideals and practical caregiving.

Interpersonal relationships in the hospital room

Head nurse Hatsumi Otsuka and senior Yasuko Yamanouchi guide newcomers from different perspectives, and former senior Nagisa Fujisawa also appears in the workplace. Patient Sayuri Sakai is initially hostile toward Kaori, while Ami Asada and the mysterious ward 310 bring new questions. Work relationships gradually connect with personal experiences.

Re:Therapy version

Later, Re:Therapy expanded its content based on the original, with Steam releasing this version, and the official description lists more than twenty endings. Player responses affect character relationships and routes, but this amount belongs to the expanded product description. The original work from 2011, the later Re:Therapy, and the international release should be recorded separately.

Working relationships in hospitals

Yurigahama General Hospital has about fifty beds. Newcomer Kaori Sawai is taught by senior high school student Nagisa Fujisawa, and strict guidance is given by Head of Internal Medicine Hatsumi Otsuka; Yasuko Yamanouchi plays a coordinating role between the head nurse and the young nurse. Sayuri Sakai, Ami Asada, and Mayuki Wakamoto are hospitalized patients, each with different conditions and hidden circumstances.

Original work and RE:Therapy

Released on September 29, 2011, the original work mainly follows the Hatsumi, Nagisa, and Sayuri routes. In 2012, RE:Therapy added Mayuki, opened the Yasuko and Ami routes, and after the happy ending of the Sanjohara route, added an epilogue; A remake was also released in 2019.

Character songs

RE:Therapy's opening theme is 'you never know,' performed by Eri Kitamura under the name Hatsumi Otsuka; Lyrics by Chiaki Ogasawara, music by Masaki Suzuki, arrangement by yuki nakano. ED COCOON is performed under the name Ami Asada, performed by Ahichi Mizuno, with lyrics by Ai * MeiGui, music by Wataru Kouda, and arrangement by Tomohisa Kuraya. The full versions of both songs are bundled with the PSP first press limited CD.

Production team

Chisato Naruse was responsible for character design, Madoka En and Sakura Sakura wrote the script, Miyaza was the head director, and the planning and production came from Kogado Shimarisu Team. Both playwrights mentioned their nursing work experiences on the production page that year.

Kaori's understanding of the healing hand

After Kaori experienced a traffic accident, people around her said that touching the affected area could relieve pain, calling this power a healing hand. She herself doesn't believe this is a special ability, thinking it might just be a placebo effect.

The student council partners collaborate again

Nagisa Fujisawa and Kaori were both student council members in high school and were well-known partners at school. After the hospital arranged for Nagisa to be Kaori's nursing instructor, she was happy that they could work together again, but she also kept her feelings secret from telling Kaori.

Production planning

Director Miyaza Yoen Madoka discussed the next medical-themed game during the development and release period of "Solfège." In an interview published in June 2012, Miyaza recalled that the two chose the softer parts from Madoka's practical nursing observations to make "White Clothes Love Syndrome" brighter; Because the volume of text was too large for Madoka to handle alone, Sakura Sakura, who knew her and had medical knowledge, was invited to serve as assistant screenwriter.

According to Miyazawa, the production team requested a balance between a soft yuri art style and a neat hospital image when approaching the artist for this work. The concept for the first collaboration with Chisa Naruse was continuously invited by the director, and after about three rounds of discussion, it was confirmed around April 2010 that she would be the artist. The director then proposes aprons and hair ties, discusses the idea of a ponytail with Naruse, and decides on the protagonist's side ponytail.

The game was originally planned for PC release in the fall of 2010. Miyaza recalls: Around the summer or autumn of 2010, when the script was completed, Cyberfront proposed a PSP release plan, and the developers redeveloped it, porting the original PC program to PSP.

Voice and dialect adjustments in the original recording

According to director Miyaza's recollection, a segment of Eri Kitamura's ending narration reminded him of Hatsumi Otsuka's older sister-like voice, and during the official recording, Kitamura was asked to raise her acting age. Yasuko Yamanouchi's actress Yumi Hara was selected by Tomoyuki Hamada according to the Kansai dialect; After comparing the intonation differences between Madoka and Hara, the creators used Yumi Hara's tone to portray Yasuko.
