GrimE connects with new components
Oliver Franzke and Mark Cooke introduced the architecture of Grim Fandango Remastered in a 2017 joint lecture: integrating GrimE's C/Lua portion into modern renderers and platform services, while handling 64-bit adaptation, defects, and new features.
Lighting implementation when background materials are limited
When their joint report reviewed the lighting for Grim Fandango Remastered, the official catalog clearly stated that there were no original 3D background footage available. The handouts display direction, points, spotlights, and gradient lighting volumes and animations, and use interpolation depth and light blocking to illustrate scene processing.
