Identity in Kanon
In Makoto's route, she recognizes her connection to the fox legend and explains to Yuichi that becoming a miracle requires sacrificing memories and lives.
The Makoto incident in the 2006 TV anime
In episode 9, Yuichi consults Makoto again due to Makoto's ongoing decline and hears sad truths from her. In episode 10, Yuichi hopes someone can understand Makoto and become her support, so he asks Mishio to meet Makoto.
Makoto Route: Refusing to make friends or have similar experiences
Mishio pays attention to Makoto but initially refuses Yuichi's offer to become Makoto's friend. Later, she tells Yuichi that she too has encountered a fox in human form, and asks him to remain strong even after losing Makoto.
