Abnormalities at the station

The protagonist usually rides the train to school with her childhood friend Maiko Tamaki. One morning, the crowded platform suddenly disappeared, leaving only a strange girl on the opposite side. Subsequent unidentified creatures, escaped shadows, and cities that should never exist gradually cause campus life to lose stability.

Three main characters

Maiko Tamaki is a lively second-year high school student who has known the protagonist since childhood and loves strawberry milk and ice cream. Tsuji Aya stays alone in the deserted Full Moon Street, still getting up, cooking, and going out at fixed times; She lost her shadow and feared the shadows of those who moved. Izumi Marufuji is a civil servant in Morioka. She originally cared about marriage and daily life, but was drawn into the Pandora Project. The three are voiced by Yukari Tamura, Noriko Kuwashima, and Mami Kinzuki.

Classmates and family

Chika Kimura is close to Maiko and has known Haruka Fujinobe since childhood. Haruka appears like a delinquent student but is actually very serious. After being contacted by Chika, she began taking care of Maiko. Maiko's younger brother, Masao Tamashiro, is in the second year of junior high and is a key player on the soccer team, calmer than his sister. The school's new counseling doctor, Takumi Yano, observed the students with a wary gaze.

Pandora plans to be with another city

Mutsuki Saegusa's sister, Miyako Saegusa, is a renowned psychopathologist. Mutsuki participates in the Pandora Project for her sister and the world. Izumi's boss, Fuyuki Ikuo, is a key participant in the plan and tries to stop the world's destruction. Meanwhile, the general and Buta-kun are hunting creatures in an uninhabited city. The general believes the king lives in the suburbs and mistakes Aya for a fairy.

Narrative style

The story follows the branching characters the protagonist encounters, with the experiences of the three female leads unfolding in parallel and influencing each other. The visuals use numerous continuous camera transitions combined with voice acting, presenting character actions and scene changes. The PS2 version adds original graphics and story based on the Dreamcast version.

Budget version with supplementary materials

The PS2 budget version was released on March 1, 2007, with both a regular edition and the first-press made-to-order "Pandora BOX." The latter includes 120 pages of official reference books for "Mist" and "Interlude," including Hideo Horibe's illustrations, design drafts, and Sonozaki's explanations of development and storytelling. The budget version packaging also features new illustrations drawn by Baogu.
