Newly arranged production in 2023
Kitagawa invited Qiaozhou to participate in the new arrangement and supervision. The two spent about one to two months discussing repeatedly and gradually completing the vocal adjustments.
The original version was limited by the number of NDS sounds and effects, and was compensated by the structure of the piece. The new arrangement does not simply use new effects pedals, but instead recreates some of the original methods with new equipment, preserving the atmosphere of the original song.
Early arrangements have deeper reverberations. Qiaozhou believes stories often unfold in enclosed spaces, requiring drier sounds, and both parties adjust the spatial feel of the music accordingly.
Since the game allows switching between the original and new arrangements at any time, adaptations preserve each song's gameplay function and impression as the boundary; The producers also kept the length and timing consistent for the piece.
"Farewell to Tell" is one of the final finalized pieces, with seven to eight versions made, focusing on the flute's timbre and local sounds.
