The production of "Under the Sea."
Wrote a new SeaBed radio drama, with three episodes focusing respectively on brick cremators, cafés, and cleaning at Ishigami and Susuki Station.
Four-panel comics and character design
hide38 was the first to create a four-panel manga featuring Sachiko and Takaho. After watching it, AKIRA wanted to continue reading about the characters' experiences, so hide38 decided to integrate the scattered stories into SeaBed. In a 2020 interview, the two looked back on the origins of this production.
The script and character designs for "SeaBed" were all created by hide38. He still asked AKIRA to check whether the image matched the dialogue and whether there were any issues with the image itself. Narasaki and Nanae were added as characters in the story expansion. hide38 first drew the images, then refined them based on AKIRA's feedback.
Fixed narratives versus everyday observations
In the early days of SeaBed, there was consideration of setting dialogue options, but hide38 found it increasingly difficult to wrap the story together through branching as he wrote, so he eventually gave up. The team also discussed reading in chronological order and choosing your own perspective, as well as randomly generating text to give rereading different impressions; Finally, we put aside these ideas and focus on creating a fixed story.
While writing "SeaBed," hide38 continuously jotted down his thoughts and interesting observations, considering whether they could be incorporated into the work. He recalled that he did not first set memory as a theme and then gradually study it, but gradually thought about this theme when describing how characters handle daily life.
