The ghost and the burial ceremony altar
The "demon" in the work is called Peigan. Although it can resemble a human, it escapes reincarnation due to a defect in its soul. The Zianbach Funeral Home not only handles funeral services but also undertakes the task of fighting against these beings. Firearms and special abilities join forces in battle, and funeral music is not merely ceremonial accompaniment: the performer Phoron deploys a sound array to keep the spirits from approaching.
Reginalto and twins
The protagonist, Reginald Arbeline, is about a hundred years old, yet his appearance remains that of a teenager. He was reluctant to approach others proactively, fearing that after forming a bond, he might be left behind. The twins Vanessa and Veronica share a soul and consciousness as two bodies, making them a special kind of demon. After meeting Reginalto, they work together at the funeral home and face enemies.
The daily life of a funeral home
President Ardolf is the father of twins, values his profession, and has a view on death. Folon is responsible for music and protection; Vampire Corticarte handles affairs in peacetime, uses large firearms in battle, and relies on Foron for blood to maintain his body. Associate priest Benedict and Dorothea, who manages the accounts, also participate in funeral company activities.
Characters in the city
Police officer Franziska comes from the prestigious Gal family, is diligent in handling matters and frequently contacts funeral homes due to on-site investigations. The twins' classmate, Haide Marii, is the daughter of a restaurant owner, helping with management and serving meals, and is familiar with street affairs. Besides battles, the work also depicts the communal life of members and these residents.
Production and Music
Ichiro Sakaki was responsible for the script, Noboru Kana Tsuki-nobu handled the key animation, and Sumizen Sound was responsible for the music. The theme song "The answer BLOΦD ~Bloody Guidepost~" is performed by Yumeji Ruri, composed by Ryuki Arna, with lyrics by Daiyo Sakurazawa. It includes 12 tracks of the original soundtrack, including the theme song and accompaniment, as well as soundtrack such as 'Pagan,' 'Anthem,' and 'Ability.'
Performances and affiliated radio dramas
Main characters use full voice acting, with adjustable character voices and auto-play. Pre-order bonus radio drama 'Reginalto's Holiday' depicts a newly hired Reginalto getting to know the city and playing an interlude during outings with Heidemarii and the twins. Foron and Corticarte use the character names and combinations from 'Shinkyoku Sokai Polyphonica,' while this game introduces their own classes and vampire settings.
