Villages and banquets
The protagonist, Fang Shiyangming, accidentally enters a remote settlement during his journey. In the village, there is a ritual known as the Feast of the Underworld: beings considered "wolves" blend into the crowd, and participants seek them out through discussion and execution. Tradition, interpersonal relationships, and violent incidents make it difficult for outsiders to judge the situation solely by observing.
The game borrows the factions and skepticism structures of werewolves or Mafia board games, but the actual product is a single-player narrative game. The villagers' identities and behaviors are scripted; players read testimonies, observe reactions, and choose actions, rather than randomly playing against online players.
The protagonist in the cycle
Fangshi Yangming's investigation is linked to repeated deaths and restarts. Experiencing termination doesn't just mean reading a bad ending: players will understand the rules of characters, environments, or rituals, which will change their next action. Choices that previously seemed impossible to judge may gain new meaning after receiving information.
The reasoning in the story includes both who lied and why everyone accepted certain rules. The closed village at the beginning does not exist solely as a backdrop of horror; the protagonist builds trust, conflict, and cooperation with the locals, all of which are conditions for the investigation to continue.
Flowcharts and Knowledge Unlock
The official English product description lists scenario flowcharts and knowledge key mechanisms. The flowchart is used to view story branches that have already been experienced and to return to previously visited segments; The new knowledge gained unlocks subsequent choices. It directly integrates multiple branches of reading into the plot progression, reducing the burden of rereading from the beginning one by one.
After clearing the game, the Revelation Mode unlocks to add character thoughts and dialogue information. This mode changes readers' understanding of old scenes, so its content is suitable for discussion after completing the main story and should not be treated as facts the character already knows during the first playthrough.
Name and release version
The Japanese title of the work is 'レイジングループ', the English product name is Raging Loop, and its commonly used Chinese name is 'The Mystery of the Werewolf Village'. KEMCO's different product pages correspond to mobile, console, and PC releases; the initial release information on the profile card and the Steam listing date must be recorded separately.
Regarding specific routes, this page only explains the system and does not stitch together option text from different language versions. After actual check-up, the guide can independently record the applicable version, the knowledge already obtained, and the route location, then link back to this article.
Outsiders and closed settlements
Yangmei Fusaki, a 24-year-old student, gets lost and has an accident during a motorcycle trip. Chie Serizawa rescues him and leads him to the Xiusui settlement in Fujira Village. Yugiri ordered his plan to leave the settlement failed; he was killed by a wolf attack, but returned to the night of May 11. Upon his second visit, he faced the Yellow Springs Banquet, where residents chose their execution targets according to legend and consensus.
Family and life relationships
Hanako is the head of the Sue family, one of the four Fujira families, responsible for telling village customs and caring for the lost Meiko. Hunter Kanzo Makishima wields real leadership in the village, and his granddaughter Haru has a tense relationship with him. Kaori Oribe, the owner of the communal cafeteria, is the mother of Yasunaga and Yoshiji. The brothers hold different attitudes toward a closed life; Reporter Hisako Umamiya and photographer Yudai Hashimoto are working partners from outside the village.
A clue to action exchanged for death
Death Return allows Yangming to retry the choices he has already experienced, transforming the information he gains into a KEY, opening up new actions. Therefore, some Death branches provide clues needed to advance the puzzle, and the story's goal also includes solving the return itself.
Production, vocals, and record recording
Amphibian was responsible for the script, Kakuyu created the characters under the official alias Kagerou, Kawasakimami managed the illustrations and design details, and Nanatsu was responsible for the music. KEMCO and dwango selected actors and produced voice acting through DCS; The opening theme "Kirino Negai" was performed by the trio D-LU-PS, and the ending "Last Acceleration" was performed by Shion Kitazawa as the character Chie Minoru. The 2018 original soundtrack CD contains 30 tracks, featuring Meiko's solo "Shinnaimo de" and Yangming's "Buddhist Relic Rock" as new recordings.
The memories of Yomi, Kichi, and Chie Mitsu
The main Steam game's Yellow Springs route allowed Yang Ming to witness Yan's execution and off-court violence from the sidelines, ultimately failing. The clever route first depicts him obtaining villager status, then using Li Huazi as a companion to join the banquet; Chie overturned her previous victory with brute force in the final round. Later, the KEY branch reveals that she also experiences cycles, describing her and Yangming's repeated killing of each other and jumping in together.
Wolf Side in the Dark
The dark route puts Yangming on the wolf's side. He and Chun concealed their identities together, using lies and votes to arrange a banquet; Yudai Hashimoto became a formidable opponent in judgment and discussion. One way to unfold this route is to coordinate voting between the wolf and mujina, ending the banquet when half of the participants are just about half.
Spring and raccoon dogs, the changes seen up close
The exposure mode distinguishes spring and raccoon dog into different individuals, although they share thoughts and emotions. Jinwang senses Yangming's wolfish side identity in the dark route and gradually realizes his jealousy caused by Haru, trying to get closer to her; Extra continues to describe their interactions.
Library, Myth, and Epilogue
Before entering the myth route, five KEYS are required, one of which branches allows Yangming and Seinosuke to explore the underground library together. The myth's final stage centers on Li Huazi in a confrontation. Yangming fights back by using his own name, and Meiko also intervenes in the final process. In Extra, Seinosuke still accepts and cares for Hanako after her circumstances changed.
Division of production for thirty tracks
Tracks 1 to 20 and 27 to 29 were composed by Naizu; The local broadcast of "Shinnaimo de," distortion, music box, and three singing versions, as well as the final track "Buddhist Relic Rock," composed by amphibian. Noyato arranged tracks 2 to 23, while Dwango arranged tracks 1, 27, and 30. amphibian wrote the lyrics for 'Kirinonegai' and tracks 24 to 30.
Songs, solos, and accompaniment in the play
In addition to the three instrumental versions, 'Shinnaimo de' also includes versions soloed by Kainami Okamura under the name Hanako Ikamura, with Yushi Kyusui singing together, and Miho Minami performing solo under the name Meiko. Track 20, "LAST ACCELERATION," is marked as Game Music Ver., and tracks 27 are included in the Minoru Chie vocal version and track 29 Karaoke Ver.
Script management and revision
The author places the outline and main text of each session in the same editing environment, using a scene index to jump to the content; After completion, reread and check your words and actions by character, and add lines for characters who speak less.
Character combinations and circular conception
Character combinations were once tried using drawing lots; The circular concept responds to the call for everyone to survive, while preserving the significance of the previous tragedy.
Genre, rules, and development conditions
The adventure genre of "The Mystery of the Werewolf Village" is influenced by the manpower conditions of small teams. Amphibian recalled that during the original game's development, there were three core members, and the genre limitations were explained by the fact that each team member took on production responsibilities and lacked a dedicated coordinator. Since the 2017 Vitamin version, Unity has been used, and frequent updates have caused compatibility issues where the game could not run.
Amphibian chose a Japanese-style stage in "The Mystery of the Werewolf Village" to utilize existing knowledge and familiar scenes. Following a novelization approach, he supplemented the story's reasons for daily executions and nighttime killings, and handled the way people were isolated during the night. The scale of the characters was determined to be sixteen, considering the number of people on the wolf side, budget, and the age distribution of the village.
