PC Engine sound and game video audio source editing
At a 2018 event, Hiroto Saito recalled that by passing large amounts of data into the waveform memory of the PC Engine in a short time, sound reproduction similar to PCM could be formed; Complex sound processing is still limited by CPU and memory margin.
While editing the game video for the 1992 PC Engine version of Super Schwarzsilt 2, he copied the dialogue tape while simultaneously triggering sound effects in the sampler with his keyboard. The entire editing process took two days.
Remake the composition order of the opening film
For the opening film of the 2009 remake of 'POWER DoLLS 1', Saito wrote a new song. The producers wanted to get the music first, then arrange the synchronization between the visuals and sound; He envisioned the subsequent footage coordination, striving to arrange as many changes as possible within about 90 seconds.
Adapting albums to adjusting game music
The remastered music uses Saito's independently produced and adapted album, rather than rearranging all the old tracks specifically for the game. For gaming, he added loops and toned down overly prominent parts of the arrangement to accommodate repeated playback.
Collaboration in early record recordings
While producing the original "POWER DoLLS" album, Saito made his first commercial studio appearance. He shifted from writing music alone on computers and equipment to collaborating with engineers; The challenge is to convey, in your heart, your voice to the other person.
