A college student living alone at noon reunites with his long-lost ex-girlfriend Kanata at a café, and meets others who have come to the shop, wavering between old romances and new encounters.

An old lover reappears
Noon has already started living alone in college, but is still troubled by the sudden breakup from a few years ago. Kanata left without explanation, and now, after they meet again by chance at a café, the memories that had gradually settled become unsettled once again.
People around the café
Kanata dropped out and became a model; Oto Hajima, who wants to be a food journalist, hopes to work part-time at a café and cares about her sister Shinpo, who has mobility issues. Narumi Narumi's college classmate at Noon is studying law, and Nayuta Kitahara is passionate about artistic creation. You'll also encounter Hibiki Kodama, who works part-time, and Tamaki Momose, who helps out at a street shop. The characters come from different social circles and build relationships through the intersection of cafés.
Branch and production staff
The game progresses through text and options, with choices leading the story to different endings. Character design was handled by Yukihiro Matsuo and Takayuki Yushimizu, with script signed by Fuu Midori Inu; Kanata Kurosu, Nezu Hajima, and Sako Narumi are voiced by Yukari Fukui, Ai Shimizu, and Ayako Kawasumi, respectively.
AfterStory added on PSP
The PSP version released on August 14, 2008 added a newly written AfterStory novel, depicting the follow-up of Noon and Kanata and others, with illustrations by Rei Fujisaki. The additional chapter can be read from the start of the game, but the content follows the main chapter.
HD PC version
The 2024 Steam version, provided by MAGES. and published by Spike Chunsoft, ports the game to Full HD format, includes the main story and AfterStory, and offers Japanese, Chinese Simplified, Traditional Chinese text, and Japanese voice acting.
A reunion at a coffee shop
A few years ago, Kaga Shogo lost contact with Kanata without receiving any explanation. Now, reunion brings back those unresolved feelings, and Cubic Cafe connects college students, part-time workers, and high school students.
University with sisters
Sako and Nayuta meet Noon at Chiwadani University, studying law and art respectively. Oto, who wants to be a food reporter, hopes to work part-time at a café and also takes care of her younger sister Shinho, who uses a wheelchair, in her daily life.
Life outside of school
Hibiki stopped attending high school and made a living by working part-time as a receptionist. They met after bumping into Noon on the street. Tamaki attends a distant school but comes here to help the merchant Toby. Her intentions remain uncertain at the beginning of the story.
Production and vocal version
The PSP version character designs were jointly signed by Yukihiro Matsuo and Takayuki Koshimizu. Kanata is voiced by Yukari Fukui in this version; The compilation also features tracks performed by Ayumi Murata, each marked as a vocal version.
Porting and additions
The original work was released in November 2002, and on August 14, 2008, the PSP version added After Stories featuring Noon, Kanata, and others, illustrated by Rei Fujisaki. The 2021 Historia volume first volume is available in high definition.
The matching route for the PSP main game
Otoko and Shinpo, Nayuta and Sako, and Hibiki and Tamaki each form three sets of routes. Only after completing these six people's routes will the other side route open.
PSP Main Story: Shinpo's Work Desire
Shinpo wants to work at a flower shop but finds it hard to find a job due to mobility issues. Worried about becoming a burden to her sister, she also asked Noon to bring a wheelchair in front of Yinxu.
PSP Main Story: A childhood acquaintance who admitted mistake
At one point, Noon regarded Nayuta as a childhood acquaintance from his memories; The Shazi route made him realize that the person he knew back then was actually Shazi.
PSP Main Article: Compensation for Xiang's Phone
Hibiki demanded compensation from Noon on the grounds that his phone was damaged, but later admitted that this excuse was untrue. Their relationship began to take different sides from this claim.
Deep Walk Route: Find a job
Noon is busy searching for shops where you can work part-time. Even when the staff tried to persuade him to give up, he kept searching, making Shenbu's work wishes a concrete issue they had to face together.
Onto's usual route: sisters candidly admit
Shinpo realized that her sister wanted to date Noon as an ordinary girl, and despite knowing she might be rejected, she still confessed to him. Afterwards, the sisters openly express their long-suppressed thoughts, and after arguing, they can actually be honest with each other; Onxu and Noon agreed on a date for the future.
