Making games outside of work

In a 2023 interview, he recalled that he was born in Hiroshima, started making games during his student days, and also released mobile works. After starting work, he set out to develop 'Summer Beyond' to launch a game on Steam; During the interview, he worked as a company employee in Tokyo while developing games.

Novel writing and literary expression

He started writing novels around middle school. In college, he read Chōhei Kanbayashi's 'Battle Fairy Yukikaze,' and the way it directly conveyed content inspired him on how to express himself through words.

Gameplay first, story concept

When making "Summer Beyond," he first assumed gameplay that could be played after the ending, then sought the corresponding world and story. The search for supplies in a post-apocalyptic world fits this idea; He also said that the scenery of his hometown Onomichi influenced the atmosphere of the work.

Because of the call setup, he uses dialogue to advance the story. During development, there was an attempt to rewrite the structure to resemble a novel, but the writing felt sluggish, so in the end, it was mostly written in dialogue.

Creating an atmosphere through music

He recalled that when composing the soundtrack for 'Playing Piano at 5 A.m.' he once spoke with composer Kanade, who played the instrument, and he listened while conveying the atmosphere of hope.
