Two main storylines

The original arc centers on the encounters of Satsuki Kuru, Minase Yuka, and others being caught up in the "Red Night." In the new arc, Shu Amami is a modern magician who hides his identity, attending Class 2-A at Hongryokan Academy. Each story has a complete ending, presenting the same world through the experiences of different characters.

Rumors of the Double Ephemerals and the Disappearance Case

Tadashi Teruya's childhood friend, Natsuki Kaori, sees her own clone; Rumors spread throughout the city that anyone who sees the clone will disappear. Xiu initially sought help from the knowledgeable Black Zhi Xiangmiao, then sensed something was wrong and investigated alone. He witnessed class president Mio Benino fighting a blue-haired girl and discovered that Mio also knew modern magic. A few days later, the girl transferred into his class under the name Shiori Momano.

Modern magician

Xiu's grandfather, Kanji Tenji, founded modern magic. Based on this, Xiu researched spatial stillness and gravity control, using contact lenses, headphones, and mobile phones to perform rituals. Mio's father once studied under Kan'er, and she inherited his knowledge, reinterpreting natural magic and spirit magic in modern ways. Their different techniques and upbringings also make Mio feel a sense of rivalry with Xiu.

Relationships on campus

Azuma Shione has liked cultivation since enrollment and tries to confess her feelings but is rejected; Her friend Mio confronted Shu because of this. Xiyin comes from a family of doctors and still hesitates about the path her family has planned for her. Kanae Kuroshiba is the library committee member of Class 2-F, familiar with books and rumors, known as the "Witch of the Library." Kaori Natsuki and Tadashi Teruya often act together, and it was her experiences that led to this investigation.

A companion in the red night

In the original story, Misuzu Kusakabe inherits Onmyōdo and the 'Kusakabe Five Treasures,' often fighting at the front of her companions; Kikuri Tachibana communicates through written conversation and can manifest the guardian angel Abraxas, fighting and healing with chains. Yukiko Hirohara is currently the head of the current department and a junior who works at a coffee shop; Kenhisa Tajima possesses the ability to ignite fire. Each person's abilities and past together form the collective portrait of the Akaya arc.

Release and music

The Xbox 360 version was released on April 2, 2009, and the PSP version on January 28, 2010; both included the above titles. The iPhone/iPod touch ports split the two titles into separate apps, with "虛ろなる鏡界" released on February 3, 2011. The official website lists the opening theme "Endless Tears..." performed by Ayane and the ending theme "Reswear of Memories" performed by Asriel; The preview arrangement sold separately on the official website differs from the in-game audio source.

Historical mobile version: Unlock other viewpoints based on protagonist progress
