The planning and styling of 'Danganronpa'
Rui Komatsuzaki and Kodaka jointly initiated the original 'Danganronpa' project through drawing and script. After Kodaka introduced "Psychopop," Komatsuzaki shifted from a more psychological thriller direction to a visual style that placed special emphasis on trendy elements.
When Komatsuzaki designed the black-and-white bear (モノくマ) from Danganronpa, he initially used a school anatomical model as the prototype, retaining the textured structure on the left and right, and combined the setting of the culprit being black and others white, developing the black-and-white design. His figure paintings and vivid colors also entered the project drafts submitted by Kotaka to Terasawa for discussion.
