Board the night train
The protagonist, Zhong Chengxiao, is an animator who dreams of becoming an animation director. He boards a train after winning a travel opportunity, beginning a journey with a group of passengers who were originally strangers. The train connects limited space with the ever-changing scenery outside the window and serves as the main stage for interactions between characters.
Nova, a girl who has lost her memory, appears on this journey. Her cat ears and tail, blank background, and contact with the protagonist form key questions at the beginning. The story gradually reveals each person's situation through interactions during travel, rather than focusing on train driving or railway management.
People on the carriage
Nova lacks memories that explain his origins and shows closeness to Zhongcheng Xiao. Kariha, who guides the travelers, also shows a side of feeling overwhelmed when facing mechanical problems. Nori's actions feel a sense of déjà vu with the protagonist.
Huajiang is a frequent smoker and keeps his distance from Nova; Gibier is from Sweden, whose real name is Jennifer; Eagles love stargazing. The details provided by the official character introduction indicate that they did not share the same travel purpose, and the subsequent story unfolded through their differences in interactions.
Production and visuals
The original work is branded by shiratamaco, character art by Shiratama, and script by Sakaki Kasa. The protagonist's identity as an animation professional and the train journey together form the thematic background of the work; Character visuals, backgrounds, and text are the main ways players actually engage with the story.
Responsibilities for character dubbing and porting should be based on the production chart for the corresponding product. The original artist, original brand, and console publisher are listed as separate items in the product profile and should not be merged into a single "author."
Switch version
The product page for dramatic create states that the Switch version will be released on December 11, 2025, supporting Japanese voice as well as Japanese, Chinese Simplified, and Traditional Chinese text, rated CERO C. These specifications only describe the product of the console.
The original initial release information should still be retained. Using the Switch version date as the original release date of the entire work, or inferring from its language gloss that the old PC version had the same translation, can cause version confusion.
Climb up Milky Way
Zhongcheng Akira hopes to become an animation director and, after winning a travel opportunity, boards a night train. Nova has cat ears and a tail, has lost his past memories, and meets him during his journey and shows closeness.
Travel guides and familiar faces
Kalha Rumcone calls herself a conductor and travel guide, but is not good at handling mechanical problems on trains and needs Akatsuki's encouragement when breakdowns occur. Neri gives Akatsuki a sense of déjà vu, but this past of acquaintance has yet to be explained at the beginning.
Other passengers on the bus
Huajiang, who smokes often, keeps his distance from Nova because he dislikes the smell of smoke. The Swedish Givier is cheerful and lively, with the real name Jennifer Meni Order; Takase, sitting in the back seat, loves stargazing.
Production and dubbing
The original work was produced by Shiratama, with character design and key animation by Shiratama, screenplay by Sakaki Kasa, background art by Waisshu, image by Mignon, directed by Yoshihiko Kotake, and music by Project Lights. Nova, Karuha, Neri, Hanae, Gibier, and Takase are voiced by Yufuko Ohno, Mio Hoshitani, Yuu Serizawa, Riko Obara, Higa Omori, and Kengo Kasai, respectively.
Theme song and original soundtrack
Starttrip is performed by Megumi Hoshina, lyrics co-written by her and Shiratama, music composed by Kimiaki Maruyama, and co-arranged with Yuichi Nanase. The soundtrack catalog numbered SRTM-0001 lists sixteen tracks, including the complete songs, instrumentation, and background music within the track.
PC and Switch
The original PC version was released on December 30, 2020. The dramatic create Switch product will be released on December 11, 2025, with CERO C rating, Japanese voice acting, Japanese and traditional Chinese subtitles.
A place of memory to dock
The train passes through the Black Forest, the southern islands, the Hakodate Planetarium, and places where Akatsuki once lived, with each station connected to places passengers long for or memories of. The journey does not follow the real geography continuously; stops gradually reveal the life experiences of each person.
Discovering Neri, Akatsuki, and transplantation
Akatsuki meets Neri again in the latter half of the journey and learns that she had an accident while rescuing a cat, and her heart was transplanted to Mashiro Yoha, who suffers from a serious illness. Later, he discovered that he had also passed away and was one of the transplant donors; The experiences of other passengers are also connected to Mashiro, and the journey allows the donor's memories to meet within her.
Stop the train and continue living
Feeling guilty for accepting another's organs, Mashiro refuses to continue living, and the train gradually slows down and stops. Akatsuki and the passengers encourage her to accept the life she has already been given. After Mashiro decides to face the future, the train moves forward once more. In reality, she continues living, leaving her encounters on the journey in her memory.
The meeting of blood donors and post-travelers
Kalha was involved in blood donation, unlike organ donors who have already passed away. In reality, Haruka is still alive and can be Mashiro's friend; Mashiro's desire to continue traveling thus receives a real response. Chunhyang has no memories of the train journey; the companionship during the journey and the encounters in reality unfold separately.
