The three main sections of the main text

"Narcissu" tells the journey of two patients after leaving the seventh floor; "Narcissu 2" returns to Himeko's experiences from Mi Setsu's perspective; "Himeko's Final Chapter" continues to supplement the final part of Himeko's story. Together, these three stories form the core of the anthology.

Additional chapters

"Little Elise" is set in the medieval era; "Zero" traces the origins of the seventh floor and ward rules; "Sumire" brings together a dying girl and another girl longing for death. These three are available on Steam as DLC bundled with the main game.

Two reading performances

The publisher's FAQ states that "Start" and "Novel Mode" use the same translation and story content. The former displays updated illustrations, while the latter is closer to the earlier originals and is more concise, with less use of image scope, music, and illustrations.

Short stories and music

"Himeko's Final Chapter" includes the short story "1980," and "Little Elise" includes its sequel "1993." The anniversary music incorporated tracks from creators such as Hiroki Kikuta and Chris Huelsbeck, and later released soundtracks included both original music and new anniversary content.

Differences from the free version

Steam also offers free versions of Narcissu 1st & 2nd. The 10th anniversary anthology is separately organized in terms of inclusion, illustration, voice lines, and additional story distribution, so the two products share overlapping content but are not the same downloadable package.

Physical and digital original soundtrack versions

In 2016, the community transcribed the double CD original soundtrack listing 43 tracks, with the final track "Ame no Marginal" serving as a bonus track. The Steam digital soundtrack released on May 1, 2017, lists 47 lines, followed by "Quiet Time," "Moving Season," "Enduring Winter," and "dear friend -short ver-." The tracklist also includes 'Evening Makeup Arrangement ver.' Two Narcissus instrumental tracks, two Ramune 79 versions, and two different tracks for 'Koko Iru.'

Credited across original songs and arrangements of works

The physical track list lists "Sakura (From 120 Yen in Spring)" as composed by EBI and arranged by Hitoshi Fujima, and "From 120 Yen in Winter" as composed by Hitoshi Fujima and arranged by Hiroshi Ishibashi. "Ramune 79's" was composed by Hitoshi Fujima, ranked alongside ver2, with arrangements by Akira Kanuchi (TGZ) and Kometto Nekono, respectively. "Yukeshou Arrange ver" was composed by 443 and arranged by Kometto Nekono, connecting to the original song of the same name from "Giniro."

The concept of the anniversary music

In a November 2015 interview, Chris Huelsbeck said he received stories, drawings, and concepts for the Narcissus project, conceiving on a keyboard with simple piano or string tones, letting the story and visuals guide the melody, and then moving into the Steinberg Cubase to unfold his work. He also mentioned that when collaborating with Tomo Kataoka, the music focuses more on subtle emotions and atmosphere, rather than the real-time response to images found in action games.

Sumire's C88 precursor publication

The Sumire prelude short story introduced in the anniversary project FAQ was previously sold in limited editions by Stage-nana on C88, about 96 pages long, including a pre-story story, behind-the-scenes images, and notes.
