The final school year
Azumi Village gradually declined due to population decline, and Azumi Gakuen was the only remaining school in the village. At the spring opening ceremony, the school announced it would close after the end of the academic year. Dashi and his companions must face the coming end of their familiar life and gradually become entangled in the villagers' intentions and events related to ancient traditions.
The shrine and the old residence
Yuka Homura is the only daughter of the Homura Shrine family and Takeshi's childhood companion. She helps the family with the work of a shrine maiden. Usually lively, but especially attentive to Masashi. After her parents left, Yoshino Uon lived alone and worked as a helper for the Dojima family, whose reputation in the village was not good. Their family circumstances helped establish connections between the shrine, the old house, and the school.
The Matsukura sisters and a girl who transferred over
Ai Matsukura likes cats, relies on Yuka, and treats her like an older sister; She harbors resentment toward her parents who work away from home. Her twin sister, Asuna Matsukura, is quiet and loves reading, often helping to look after Matsukura's shop. A few years ago, Fumino Yagura moved to the village, rarely talks about his past, and often spends time with Asuna. The relationship between the sisters and Fumino means that village life revolves around more than just the protagonist.
Teachers and actors
Eriko Senou is a teacher who stayed at Azumi Academy, responsible for Masashi and the others' courses. In the PS version, Tomoko Kawakami plays Amane, Shiho Kikuchi plays Yuka, Ai Maeda and Yuka Nishiguchi play Ai and Asuna respectively, Kaori Shimizu plays Ayano, and Kikuko Inoue plays Eriko.

PS: The post-credits transcript lists TOPCAT as director, Takamichi as the original character designer, and Inu-ni, Shiho, and Yuzaburo Kikushima as scriptwriters; these are the credits for the home console version.
