A web serialization in 1997
The original work was released in April 1997 on the FLAGYX N()TE! website, using HTML to create an adventure game that can be read in browsers. The page appearance matches the site diary, and new stories are gradually revealed with real-life dates and times, making the reading process feel like waiting for the next diary.
Windows adaptation
The 2005 Windows version was based on the original webpage, with significant modifications and reorganizations. The creators explained on their official website that since 1997, they have attempted adaptation multiple times, and the final Windows version is their fourth attempt. It is seen as the goal of delivering the complete work to players, rather than simply packaging the website as is.
Encounters in the diary
The story centers on a teenager and a girl they meet at an arcade, with the main text presenting their experiences in the form of a diary. Dates and writing not only provide reading order, but also keep players facing the question of "what was written down and what was omitted." The significance of subsequent development depends on the diary as a whole, so it is not appropriate to treat the interface merely as decoration.
Experience first, then decide to pay
LANGuex allows free play and sells titles, encouraging players to purchase based on their own value after experiencing it. The official website states that ads are not inserted in the game to avoid interrupting reading. Maintenance records from late 2005 to early 2006 included music playback, scene comment registration, and font corrections; The free trial policy does not mean that materials enter the public domain.
Maintenance changes for the Windows version
1.01 Fixed the issue where the browser would not open when registering the current scene in Ringo in version 1.02. January 1.03, 2006, added font selection and experimental support for OpenType, while fixing notation; CL assisted with font expansion, and Baron Furi assisted with text correction.
Discuss by scenario
The Ringo feature opens the browser from the game editor menu and uses the current scene as the subject of your thoughts. Game IDs and scene numbers form a referenceable space, allowing readers to discuss a particular diary entry without having to pile all their thoughts on the main page of the work. Web interface and identity handling are browser-side designs.
Production credits and adaptation process
Copyright credits on the work site include LANGuex, FLAGYX, and Yutaka Fukazawa. The original 1997 work was designed as the FLAGYX N()TE! website diary, but later Windows versions went through multiple unfinished attempts and were only compiled into a complete work on the fourth attempt.
