A project invitation made possible by Japanese-style visuals
The concept for 'Tales of Flower Flower' came from producer Yuhei Shimada's desire to turn Ryuko Oishi's Japanese-style visuals into a game. After consulting with Liar-soft, the team had Nozomi Kaihara responsible for the script and Oishi responsible for the visuals. They first had a clear visual goal, then organized the story and production team to match it.
Drawing and processing of Ézoshi characters
In 'Tales of Idle Flowers,' the characters in the zoshi are first drawn by Ryuko Oishi, then processed by Nozomi Kaihara. From the original paintings to the visuals used in the game, the two collaborated; character painting and subsequent processing were handled by different members, and Kaihara's work extended beyond the script to the performance materials.
Let the text accompany the images that are completed one after another
During the production of the 'Flower Flower', the images Ōishi gradually completed helped Haiyuan adjust the style, color, and emotional description.
Hand the project proposal to the artist
During the promotion of "Evermaiden," Oishi received the proposal and agreed to participate when meeting Kaibara.
From bird prototypes to on-site modifications
The Evermaiden characters first sketch the bird prototypes according to Kaibara's requests, then the two discuss face-to-face and modify shapes and colors using iPads.
Add visual details to plain clothing
The costumes for "Evermaiden" should not be overly lavish; Oishi adds lashes, draws gold-like hair, and lengthens the proportions; Etching fine lines that match the atmosphere also make drawing time-saving.
