Small-scale work during engine waiting
After Ren'Py from 'SILENCE THE PEDANT' protoTOt was unstable, ALICE IN DISSONANCE chose to switch to Unity. While waiting for the new framework, the team also used Ren'Py to create a smaller "Mhakna Gramura and Fairy Bell," telling the story in picture book form, rarely reusing character illustrations, mainly using independently drawn illustrations for each scene.
The framework and process for porting to the Switch
When main story development stalled, the team combined the visual revamps of existing Milestone One and Milestone Two parts with the Switch port. A 2022 review shows that two ports used the Unity framework delivered by external programmers, with the entire process taking nearly two years; Hare Konatsu's improved painting level also serves as the backdrop for choosing to redo the visual work of the old work.
Shifting from custom framing to Naninovel
After Dei joined, it was unable to smoothly continue the original custom framework code and instead accepted the suggestion to purchase Naninovel from the Unity Asset Store. He then began learning Naninovel, Unity, and C# simultaneously, building development on ready-made visual novel tools.
First, complete the LIGHTKRAVTE adjustments
To familiarize THE team with THE combined production approach of Naninovel and Spine, after a meeting at the end of 2021, the team split 'SILENCE THE PEDANT' into smaller stories, starting with 'LIGHTKRAVTE.' According to a 2022 review, it took seven months from this adjustment to issuance; At that time, Milestone Two Side: Below was still in development.
