The beginning of voice acting and singing activities
Minori Chihara debuted in 2004 as Yaya Natsume in the anime "Tenjo Tenge," and released the album "HEROINE" the same year, marking the start of her singing career. She has participated in small live events and performed on the streets of Akihabara, and since 2007 has resumed her singing career with Lantis.
Lyrics and naming by Michishirube
While preparing to write lyrics and appear in 'Michishirube,' Chihara read the original work to understand the worldview. When auditing the first episode's dubbing, Taichi Ishidate left a deep impression on her when he hoped the actors would watch over the protagonist like their father; The lyrics also express the love parents and children care for each other.
She recalled that when writing lyrics, she first turned the inspiration she received from listening to the music into words, then used these fragments to organize the lyrics. The overall framework of "Michishirube" was decided before hearing the director's opinion, and she believes the lyrics as a whole have not changed much from the original version.
She sees the protagonist's repeated encounters with people as guides on the long journey, so she titled the song "Michishirube" and also thinks of important people in the listeners' lives.
The recording and singing process of the TV version
When recording "Michishirube," she recorded several times first to get the warmth of her vocals.
Lyrics for the movie version were adjusted and re-recorded
On the day of the movie's dubbing, director Shi Li and the sound director asked her to use this song in the film. She fine-tuned the lyrics to Evan Call's arrangement and re-recorded the vocals.
