"Apathy Midnight Collection VOL.1" is a Windows horror adventure collection released by Nanakorobi Hachi Rotrogari on December 29, 2007, featuring Emi Kurata's observation diary and three stories: "Sending Dog" and "Pillar Scar."

Three horror stories
The collection combines the campus events, the legend of the dog delivery, and the cheap apartment ghost story in one product. Each of the three stories has a different protagonist and narrative style. The first two include selective branches, and "Pillar Wound" adopts a linear structure.
Emi-chan's Murder Club Observation Diary
The murder club at Narukami Academy targets first-year girl Emi Kurata. She appears cheerful and ordinary, but her intense fantasies and unexpected counterattacks keep changing the situation. This story has a total of 84 possible endings.
Sending dogs
Miho Takaribe, a freshman at Hokusei University, is troubled by an anonymous letter and, invited by her friend Madoka Shirai, attends a social gathering and meets fellow townsman Akinari Senda. After discussing the legend of the dog delivery, she returns to her residence and once again faces anonymous letters and nighttime barking. The PC version features 32 possible endings, and the official notes that character settings may change depending on the route.
Scratches on the pillars
Shigaki Fengcheng achieved solitary living, renting a two-story wooden apartment with a monthly rent of 20,000 yen. The story begins with the unopened first floor, an elderly woman scratching at a pillar, and her sister Ruri wanting him to come home. This series has no branches; Himaruya Hidekazu is responsible for art and performance.
Archives and passwords
The main program provides 12 archive slots, four per page, with each record flag independent. Resumes are used to review read texts, and the password menu is used to view passwords collected, totaling 100 passwords; A flag obtained in a save will not be automatically copied to other records.
A chapter that started independently
"Scar of the Pillar" uses another application. When selecting it from a collection, the current story selection program will exit, so before switching, you need to save your progress for "Emi-chan" or "Sending Dog." This is the difference in how each part of the collection is implemented.
Production
The script was written by Takiya Iijima, with character design credited by Kaibundo, Hidekazu Himaruya, and Wahoi, and music credited by body. The film was produced by Nananagi. The work was published by Nanakorobi Hachi Rotrogari, with official archives available on both CD and download formats.
Supplementary content and series
The official store also offers a VNV Kansai dialect patch, but using it requires a separate VNV console, not the fourth complete story in the collection. VOL.02 in 2008 continued to use a compilation format, revising the collection into two parts: School Ghost Stories and Urban Legend Detective Bureau.
The source of the 'Sending Dogs' article
The "Sending Dog" included in "Apathy Midnight Collection VOL.1" was based on a long-form script planned by screenwriter Takiya Iijima in 2008 and was distributed to various prefectures during the "Temporary 48 (假)" project. This manuscript was not adopted in '48' and later became the story of this collection.
