Music production

Tatsuya Nishiwaki signed the arrangement for 'Wishing Upon the Spring Breeze'.

Two arrangements by RAINBOW

Tatsuya Nishiwaki arranged 'Beyond the Sky' and 'Even If Tears Flow to My Cheeks' on 'RAINBOW', both performed by Hiroko Kasahara under the name Forni. Gonghuatang's 2024 reproduction special lists these two arrangement responsibilities one by one.

From master score learning to multiple recordings

As a boy, Tatsuya Nishiwaki collected orchestral scores and analyzed each section while listening to records. He also transcribed Earth, Wind & Fire's "Jupiter," incorporating each member's parts into the full score; I regard this habit of understanding all voices as the starting point for arranging work.

In high school, he repeatedly made multiple recordings using the Korg Δ and two tape decks, experimenting with distortion, curved notes, and guitar-style syntax, forming a playing style that simulated lead guitar performance with synthesizers.

Self-funded recording and PAZZ audition

During university, Nishiwaki rented a recording studio in Nagoya at his own expense and recorded his first two vocal works as demos. Advertising and event music business in the studio brought work, and he also began demonstrating synthesizers for Roland.

After meeting Masayuki Iwata in 1987, he went to Tokyo to audition with his own accompaniment and a shoulder keyboard, then joined PAZZ; That same year, they recorded and released "bananafish."

From solo recording to collaborating with musicians

The song for Yumi Tanimura's "Face" was recorded in multiple tracks beyond vocals by Kazuto Nishiwaki. By the time of production related to "Hear," he gradually added live instruments such as Hideo Yamaki's drums and Masato Honda's saxophone.

A solo album centered around the harmonica

In 2000, his first solo album "Atmosphere" centered on chromatic harmonica and accompanied the band's performances. The 2001 album "Sound Of Gravity" also includes recordings in collaboration with musicians from New York.

Synthesizer playing solutions

In 2006, "Synth Night" did not include a guitarist; instead, Nishiwaki performed alongside John Wetton, Geoff Downes, and others, using distorted synthesizers to deliver the guitar-like performance required for Asian songs.

In 2014, he developed a controller for synthesizers controlled by breath and began online sales, enabling keyboard playing to achieve wind instrument breath changes.
