Ameon and the automaton

"Ameto and Automaton Kyu" (雨音と自動人形 結) is a short science fiction visual novel produced by datchi. After the pandemic, society relies on androids to keep going. A blind maid-type android meets a man who works in memory preservation at an abandoned bus waiting area.

Waiting after stopping

After the decline of civilization, bus routes were abandoned, and Aya remained alone at the waiting area, waiting for someone important. She couldn't see the outside world, but she could sense the other person's emotions. The silver-haired man Xue Cun came here not with news of a train opening, but with memories related to the person she was waiting for.

The work of sealing memories

Yukimura is called the "Sealing House," which can seal a person's memories into memory orbs, temporarily forgetting unbearable experiences. He had something he had to convey on this trip, but Aya resisted accepting it. Their conversation gradually reveals a double burden in memory: forgetting can temporarily relieve pain, but accepting the truth affects whether they can continue living.

The changes brought by Mizuki

The young Mizuki lost someone important to an epidemic and was troubled by her past experiences. Her interactions with Yukimura and Aya make the waiting area more than just a closed conversation between the two. The story connects the created responsibilities, personal desires, and the possibility of choosing life again through how different characters face loss.

Sound and reading form

The game is a single-ending reading work, with the author giving a duration of about one and a half to two hours. Yui Asami Ayayu and Ichigo Inuzuka Mizuki provide the voices, with the sound of rain, piano music, and opening and ending visuals jointly participating in the production. The main progression is character dialogue and gradually revealing past events, with no multi-character romance route.

Expansion in 2021

The first edition was released on August 28, 2021, and was subsequently added to CG appreciation and music studios. Version 1.03 in December added illustrations, chapter selection, video appreciation, and ending animations, along with expanded storylines; Subsequent revisions will continue to address browser and portrait display issues. When recording early versions, it is necessary to distinguish these additional contents.
