2017 recording, MV, and soundtrack adaptation
When Asaka recorded "Play the game," she wanted to express Yuta Iwaki's intense emotions within a set melody and rhythm. She tried to emphasize the negative syllable in the final chorus, and after the staff agreed, they adopted this expression.
When filming the music video for this song, she tried lip-syncing in reverse for the first time, speeding up her mouth movements to twice the usual speed and reading the lyrics in reverse.
In his 2017 game soundtrack commentary, Abao also listed the music box version of the opening theme song titled "Play the game -MUSIC BOX-".
