In the 2004 OVA, Makoto returns with Hinata to Kazane City, the siblings' birthplace, in order to search for their suddenly missing mother. Searching for their mother was their purpose in returning home.
2004 TV: Complicated feelings after reunion
In episode 2 of the 2004 TV anime, Hinata and Makoto visit Minamo and her father together, and Minamo learns that the siblings' mother is missing. When she returned home, Hinata was happy at the reunion but couldn't hide her complicated feelings.
