Early translation division of the Steam version

The 2017 production review notes that NEKOPARA's early Steam release was originally planned to be English-only, but later switched to multilingual. The English translation was handed over to Sekai Project, while the Chinese translation was commissioned by さより to a team of longtime Taiwanese friends; She hopes that existing Chinese readers can also read in familiar languages.

Engine replacement, outsourcing, and paid collaboration

Early development of NEKOPARA scaled up as it progressed: the team switched from free software to a new engine, added E-mote, and outsourced some tasks originally planned for internal work. At the same time, Sayori decided to pay for the professionals, and the previously free collaborations proposed out of interest became paid production as the project evolved.

Cat ear animation and short-shot CG

In a 2017 early series production review, Sayori said she asked M2 how to express cat ears that change emotionally, and together they studied cute movements. She also creates CG for scenes that appear for only one second, because even after entering appreciation mode, these images are still viewed individually, so the value of drawing cannot be judged solely by the duration spent in the story.

Project initiation and creative communication

NEKO WORKs' 'NEKOPARA' was launched around April 2014 after Yukijin contacted Sayori again, aiming for the year-end doujin exhibition. After Xuejin submitted a script containing headset or phone actions, he discussed the answer position with Sayori about functional cat ears and the setting of not drawing human ears. After sales expanded, he asked if he would continue with the original script; Sayori believes the previous content has already been recognized and suggests continuing to create according to personal preference.
