"The Night of the Red Spider Lily Blooming - First Night" is a school ghost story visual novel produced by 07th Expansion. The work combines school bullying with the legend of the Seven Great Demons, using relatively independent short stories to portray injured people, bystanders, and those who cause harm.

The eighth school ghost story
The bullied Marie Moriya hides in the bathroom crying, and her situation gradually connects with rumors about "Mesomeso-san." The third of the seven youkai, the "Dancing Red Spider Lily," invites her to become the eighth-ranked school yokai. This invitation leads despair from reality to the world on the other side of the school.
Observing the campus through short stories
The series uses a single-story structure to tell stories about yokai and the people guided by them. Different characters are caught in relationships shaped by influence, violence, and group atmosphere, giving the ghost stories concrete real-world backgrounds. The first night was published on August 13, 2011, and the second night was another set of stories published afterward.
The Origin of the Creation
In an interview, Ryuki 07 explained that after writing long suspense novels, he hopes to turn his accumulated ideas into a tightly structured short story. When discussing bullying, he focuses on how behaviors and environments cause harm, and he worries that simply labeling someone could lead to new forms of bullying. School monsters provide visible images for these forces.
Comic series
The first volume of the manga, illustrated by Ichiro Tsunohazu, originally by Ryukishi07, and provided by Nishie Eda for character designs, was released on November 5, 2010, earlier than the first night of the sound novel. Volume 3 of the manga unfolds the story of Nonomiya from the News Department and the old camera, while volume 6 concludes with the Utopia arc. The release dates for the print and electronic versions are listed separately: the first volume electronic was August 11, 2011, the final paper edition was February 7, 2013, and the electronic version was February 14.
