Shadow Spinning Section: Dashi initiates an investigation
The opening takes place just days after the Hinamizawa disaster in 1983. Oishi visits his old acquaintance Akasaka and points out suspicious aspects of the disaster, prompting the two to begin a joint investigation.
DS 'Bond' Volume 2: Investigation and Cessation
"Shadow Spinning Arc" is included in the DS series "Kizuna" Volume 2, "Thoughts," released on November 27, 2008, and begins with detectives' investigations.
Akasaka, Oishi, and Tomoe investigate those who moved out of Hinamizawa, but their interrogators end up dying one after another. They noticed the case involved two households living together and also visited Gongyou's home to inquire. Ba compares the medicine carried by a rescued girl in a family murder case with Natsumi's medicine and finds the two are consistent.
Ba was killed after investigation. Before her death, she realized she was being monitored and wrote a letter to Dashi about her findings; Later, Daishi received this letter, which also included instructions about the medication for both people. Akasaka was then ordered to stop the investigation.
