Akiba Escape PLUS is an action-adventure game released by ACQUIRE on June 14, 2012, for the PSP. It expands on the 2011 original, focusing on the conflict between humans and the Shadow Demon in Akihabara, and adds complete event voice acting, new songs, street scenes, and challenge content.

The beginning of the event
The protagonist is an 18-year-old prep school student who comes to Akihabara to search for a friend who disappeared after investigating the Shadow Demon Child. He was attacked at night but was rescued by Rui Fumizuki, leading to a conflict among humans, the Yin demons, and the investigative agency. Izumi Rin and Rui perform together; Satoko Mido from NIRO is responsible for liaising with the protagonist.
Characters in the neighborhood
The Akihabara vigilante group is made up of people familiar with the neighborhood, including secondhand store owner Yatabe-san, anime fan Nobu-kun, idol fan Gon-chan, and maid café staff Sara. Meanwhile, Yu Abeno is hostile toward humans, while Rei Anekouji commands the Shadow Demon. The secret concert of idol sister Dirty Bloody Princesses was also linked to rumors of disappearance.
Combat and exploration
The Yin demon child has regenerative abilities, which cannot be resolved by normal strikes alone. Players must first destroy clothing, then seize the moment to expose enemies to sunlight. Explore the recreated Akihabara district, where you can battle, collect clothes, visit maid cafés, play arcades, work part-time, or take on resident commissions.
PLUS changes
The new version expands event performances to full voice acting, refines 3D character models, updates to 2012 Akihabara street scenes, and adds side quests, weapons, and costumes. Older save files can be carried over, and loading times and animation performances have also been adjusted.
Songs and secret concerts
The Dirty Bloody Princesses' concert was presented in animation, featuring the newly added song "VANITY VAMP." Composed by Hiroto Sasaki, lyrics by Hiroyuki Onoda, performed by Maina Kitada and Sena Kitada, performed by Eriko Nakamura and Maaya Uchida, respectively.
High difficulty and clear rewards
After completing the Otaku difficulty, Holic Mode is unlocked. The development log describes it as a high-difficulty challenge that requires rigorous approach; After clearing the level, you can also obtain the main character's 2P color scheme. These color options are part of the PLUS level collectibles.
Follow-up patches and remakes
Update 1.01 on July 25, 2012 added features such as sisters providing encyclopedia information, and fixed issues such as inheriting save files, challenge titles, and some quests. The 2021 release "First Memory" is an HD remake based on PLUS's separately produced works.
